Lockpicking

A chest is showing 90% chance of being lockpicked. Have just spent 10 mins, goodness knows how many attempts, and it refuses to open.
Any ideas? Bug?

Did you get a critical fail and break the lock by any chance stopping it from being able to be picked? Or is it just failing all the time?

i think once you failed to lockpick the lock is broken and you have no other way to open the chest tahan smash it and most of the content breaking in the process.

If you fail on the first try, you can't open it. You have to use another character or wait til your skill increases. Either by leveling, buff or expendable lockpick.

I'd reccomend doing a quicksave (f5) before attempting to pick a lock. Then just reload if you fail.

No, the lock isn't breaking, just failing all the time

That was the case in Kingmaker- and it told you to wait or use another character. Not getting any message like that here, so it would seem you can have multiple attempts with the same character. Unless it is the same as Kingmaker and there's a bug.
