After the Encounter with Orso, if you leave the area and come back he will re-attack you and you can not kill him, and he will not trigger his event again.

Yup... just tried... never thought the game would expect me to talk to the Shaman. I left the zone, then came back. Tried for 1/2 hour to kill him. Thought I was missing an element or something. Even tried holy water... nothing.

Really? I am certain the game journal&overtip tells you to do so. Bug report ingame via ALT+B. Could count as critical since it stops you from quest progression.
