Summoner?
I mean, there's Witch and Oracle from the same book, which came from the same book, why not the summoner class? My sister was all set to throw her TT character into the game.

The summoner class allowed you to design your own monster. I cant even imagine how difficult it would be to make a system where you could fully customize a monster in this way and make the model match what you designed.

A mod in the first game added the class, and it worked great :)

I assume that they can change some things here and there to make it fit into a video game. They have shown that they are able to bend some of pnp rules.
Summoners are broken overpowered in the pnp anyway so they would need to be adjusted for balance.

In the mod, the summon was cool (and pretty balanced I think) but our own character was boring (I never knew if i had to play like a melee character or a spell caster).
I think the main problem is that this class is especially interesting narratively, with the possible interactions during a game of role-playing on the table, which can be found more difficult in a video game if there is no writing work for the invocation (like Aivu for example).

Like the game's going to be balanced to begin with.
(Also, not that I care any whit for 'mechanical balance'. I prefer the game to have the mechanics fit the setting. If this is what the character should be capable of, then let them be capable of it, balance be damned...)

Which reminds me. I wonder if I can make my Str 3, Con 6 Cleric...

Well, Summoner is often considered one of the most unbalenced classes available. A properly built eidolon can easily destroy a number of challenges, especially in the early and mid game. A couple of the summoner archetypes are even noted as being so powerful as to be viable for solo play in tabletop, not even needing a party. While people have theorycrafted numerous solo builds, there isn't any other class or archetype outright noted by the game designers as to have that function.

Have you seen the plethora of end game builds dealing multiple hundreds and sometimes over 1k damage??? No sir, you are mistaken...they are fine to be included as the mod for kingmaker had them.
