Sorry. I'm on daring.
Thanks. I didn't know last stand was that useful I'll restructure and try again.
Baphomet himself is very hard. One step below daring difficulty he still has AC 58 and SR 40,and his attacks deal like 70 damage without crits. But you have a little grace period, since he starts off with two spells before he kills you (at least he did for me...word of Baphomet and one other). With his high SR spells did not do much, my chance to bypass it was 25% (I needed a 16 to get through), and that was only Nenio, who has the spell penetration line. My mythic abilities worked, though, and I blasted him with Close to Heaven.
Anything you have to mitigate physical damage will be helpful. DR X/- would be good, and if you have scrolls of blink (and UMD), this is a good place to use them. The illusion defense spells won't do much good, but blink is proof against true seeing.
Thanks. I'll try blink.
The caster minos run away after you down hepzamirah and they all have crazy low saving throws.
Only one or at tops 2 for me ever managed to make their saves since at the start he dispelled all my buffs and got the first turn, always. Only managed to use 5 midnight bolts cause two of them saved.
I superbuffed everyone, so that may be it. He stilled ko’d my tanks real quick though.
In my successful run at him, I saved my buffs because his dispel is a scripted sequence that cannot be avoided, then managed to crit-fish him down with my main (a twohander Paladin with everyone's favorite talking weapon,) combined with two black bolts and some crits from Greybor. Meanwhile, I kept my people alive (or not) by spamming restoration on Daeren, interspersed with Heal spells. I didn't have the problem of him one-shotting people with his melee because he kept casting his ranged AoE spell - likely targeting the Angelic summons I was carting around from the last fight, since they were all at range.
I am not certain whether Angel path characters must always kill Baphomet - but I can confirm you DO have to kill him if you choose the Angel path dialogue option.
I was... not prepared for his fight. It's a HUGE jump in difficulty (like the dragon fight before him.)
I am on Angel path (because the game sure as ♥♥♥♥ seems to want to push you in that direction, at least on the first playthrough), and so I have to kill him. But I get splatted with Overwhelming Presence, despite having Rupture Restraints on three of my characters, including my main.
