Inflict wounds spells. You pick up a lot of inflict wounds scrolls in the first dungeon, and some potions near the beginning too. Later you have to depend more on actually casting the spells since they're not common drops after that.

Actually any negative energy will heal you. So inflict wounds is the easiest way, then there is the channel negative energy some divine classes get (like clerics), and some other necromancy spells.
