recruiting both lann and wenduag?

So how do you recruit lann if you get wenduag early, anyone know?

If you go the other way around I know you get Wendy in chapter 3 so maybe lann is the same.

I haven tried the other way around, but it should be in chapter 3 when you go back to bring the mongrels to drezen.

It's janky and you don't get him until chapter 5. You have to let him and wenduag duel in chapter 3, and choose the right options to where Wenduag wins but spares Lann. It took like 6 retries for me to get it right. I think it was primarily lawful options you wanted to take but it's been so long I don't really remember.

Oh and in chapter 5 when Lann comes in to save the day he's still level 2 and will get crit and explode in one hit, so you have to somehow keep him alive and after the fight he will join you.

thanks, also do you know if i take wenduag first do i really have to make the mongrels in to demonic cannibals later, cause that doesn't sound like my something my good character would do lol, do i get other choices later?

Well they don't really talk about the cannibalism much if at all after that, but they act like big dumb brutes and glow red. You can tell something is weird with them. I didn't try to redeem Wenduag though, so it might change a bit if you do that.

Which is funny because he is level 16 when he fights Wendy ...

if you take Lann first and then get Wendaug 2nd, Wendaug will backstab you in the final companion quest where you'll kill her forever. and you won't be able to romance her.

I *may* have inspired the corrupted mongrels to eat Lann. Guess I'll have to do that differently in my next playthrough.

There is a way to avoid it. In their duel in Act 3, you need to pick the Evil option and tell her shes not worthy to serve. She later comes back in Act 5.

Sounds like the opposite of what you need to do if you take Wenduag first. It's kind of like a yin-yang thing with them I guess. However I wasn't able to do any of Lann's quests in chapter 5, and he gets a pretty bad ending slide which seems unavoidable. Probably the same for Wenduag. So I'm not sure I'll even bother in my next playthrough.
