Not necessarily. Chaotic just means you don't abide by a structure that others can easily observe. Chaotic might mean doing whatever you want, or it might mean acting according to your own code of ethics with no concern for those of society as a whole.
Chaotic Good, for example, in generally interpreted as either A, helping people on a whim and generally not being harmful on the same whim (that would be Chaotic Neutral), or B, helping people according to what you know in your gut is right, laws and traditions be damned.
So that really depends on the examples of chaotic options you meet throughout the game. While twisting things you also do lots of good, then you become fairly chaotic good.
If you play a chaotic character, you don't have to pick all chaotic decisions - just pick the ones, which suits you and ignore the ones, which look evil to you
Yep totally agree with you here. Lawful for me seems like being brainwashed into doing thing.
Take a look at Desna, since she is mentioned a lot in the game, and what she did and does. The whole thing about Arueshalae is super chaotic. A lawful deity like Iomedae would smite her just because she is a demon.
Chaotic means you do whatever you want, which makes you unpredictable (and the reason why it doesn't click with lawful entities...). Is it good or bad, it depends on your own views. There is no laws to chaotic choices, only your own rules and beliefs, Sometimes you'll feel it's the right thing to do, sometimes it would appear as a very evil choice...
Chaotic also means that you don't give a fck about what SOMEONE wants YOU to do.
You do what you think is good, or bad if it's your thing.
You don't do that someone wants, because they think in their mind bubble that it's good or bad.
The judgement from their side = chaotic (because couldn't manipulate). Fck them :p
For me, chaotic (good or evil you decide) is usually the best and wisest choice in rpgs.
Doing whatever the hell you want, when you want, but whether you're good or evil is what determines what you choose to do.
Those jokster college students that just do stupid stuff because they want too, skip classes when they want too, but also do time at charities, and help out the needy are Chaotic Good. They aren't just randomly offing people.
Could be good or evil
That's just because the writing in this game is garbage.
