Defender of the Earth
The fighter's new archetype should be good for sword and board builds, no? I am thinking 5 levels of it for the heaven strike, some ranger levels to bypass the twf requirements and 11 paladin for the mark of justice

Although nope, since i would need 6 levels to effectively bypass twf. Uhm.

Why bypass? You only need 14 dex if you keep in mind you can get 20 dex with a belt of +6. Or even 12 dex if you're willing to wait for the relic boots with +8 dex. If you're just going Ranger for that then there's really no reason. I mean Ranger is good. By the way, Slayer also gets Ranger feats if you want more options.

Well, my reasoning was to take one level of demonslayer to get the favore enemy evil outsiders, which is always good to have in this game, and since the first free combat feat is at level 2, take that as well. So, with 14 dex i would have the first two of the sets.
I don't quite like the idea of waiting to get the +6 belt because it happens quite late in the game, while the way i planned allows you to get to dual wield a lot sooner The belt will be useful later anyway if i decide to take the greater twf (which honestly i am not sure it's worth it).

So that would be 2 levels. I am thinking about if it's worth it to get weapon training from defender of the hearth, as that would basically put mark of justice out of equation.
Not a big deal though, i guess, i could go divine scion for sneak attacks and studied target, i guess

You only need to start with 13 dex to get twf progression relatively early. You get a +2 dex belt in the gray garrison assualt and then a +4 belt can be had early in chapter 3 at the temple of Erastil.

In the end, i decided to start with dex 14, take a +1 at level 4 together with twf, take the 2nd ranger level at level 5 to get improved twf and go from there

Isn't that kind of a waste of a point? Since you get the belt only a tad later? You could postpone the ranger level till then.

Yeah, but you get 5 points anyway, and i am not one for min-maxing, so something will end up uneven anyway, sooner or later....I am playing an angelkin aasimar, so i got str 18 at the beginning, so imho i can spare that point

Yea i mean it's not terrible. I think it's probably worse to delay Mark of Justice to near the end of the game though. I think at that point you're better off just taking Seelah and let her use it.
