Witch Hex Channeler melee?
Time to build a melee Hex Channeler Witch. But I’m going to need a lot of help.

Goal: Shield, Armor, Casting while wearing armor, D8 hit dice

Theory build
Human feats: Shield Proficiency, Arcane Armor Training
Background: Bounty Hunter (Light Armor, Stealth)

STR 16(+3)
DEX 12(+1)
CON 12(+1)
INT 16(+3)
WIS 7(-2)
CHA 16(+3) required for hex channel charges

My goal is to have many charges of the heal for my team and to buff my strength and bonus attacks through spells like Divine Power granting an additional attack. I am fully aware I will be stuck at 2d8-I find it better than 2d6 which is the Wolf Scarred Face option for the Stigmatized Witch option.
I intend to use as many options as I can to buff the channeled hex ability while making room for Ice Plant and Evil Eye.

I would like to hear if this has been done before or not.

My familiarity with hex channeler was more of a evocation spellslinger than going melee. What are weapons are you looking at?
Since Witch has mage armor, you could just forgo armor, pick up Archmage Armor, and slap on a haramaki for the enhancement bonus for more.

By the time you cast evil eye enemies are mostly dead though. Are you playing on turn based? Then I can see a melee character working with hexes. In RtwP hexes and spells are mostly just a waste of time. Wish this game had the option to queue actions like NWN2. At least then you could deal more efficiently with action economy.

Have you thought about going Shaman instead

Have you thought about going Shaman instead of Witch route?

You can get Channel by selecting Life Spirit or go Witch Doctor, also you can get Battle Spirit as a Mythical choice which will give you the Battle Master Hex that allows you to get free weapon choice greater weapon focus, and also I believe weapon specialisation with out having to meet the prerequisite.

You can get Iceplant and Evil Eye if you choose to do so, also Evil Eye cause a Sickened effect so there is that.

Intimidating Display can be either taken or got through Wandering Spirit for Shatter Defence.

I honestly think I should. I started to roll a Shaman since that is the flavor I am looking for. I have some issues with consistancy and playing between game types. DND 5e has NO Shaman and Pathfinder 2e pen and paper has NO Shaman. I am not looking for homebrew options I'm looking for ... a common thread.
Warlock flavors as a Warrior Shaman in 5e and I have been told Witch is the similar class in Pathfinder 2e.
Even though I see Shaman as an option in Pathfinder WoTR I do not see support for this class outside of this game, that bothers me a lot. For some reason I'm choosing to ignore the shaman class currently because it is only housed within this game.
Another problem. In Pathfinder 2e core rules there is no Witch class and I have no interest in homebrew or documents outside the core PHB2e.
I want to play my indigenous shaman warrior without locking into a chosen theme that doesn't work. IE the following.
Barbarian (Conan the barbarian)
Ranger (Robin Hood/Rambo)
Druid (British/Scottish/Irish not pre colonial native American)

So as it stands my last bastion of hope for an indigenous warrior shaman is probably going to be ...

Bard.
And namely because music, drum circles, songs and stomp dance are all extremely important to my ancestors culture.

I got through the first intro dungeon and saved my game at the first inn. My Hex Chaneller sustained the party with many AOE heals letting us just keep going without rest but then died several times in melee. If they get focused they can suddenly die so it really seems there is an HP issue.

anyway. sometimes you play all day just to go right back into character creation.

Sylvan Trickster and Hexcrafter also can cast hexes, although the magus has so many good options to pick it's probably worse if you select a hex over them. Sylvan Trickster is a hexing rogue. Definitely a good class archetype.

At low level can be pretty tough. Mid level gets easier and also depending on the Mythic path you chose to take even more so.

The trouble with Sylvan Trickster is most Hexes are Single Action skills, so If you hexing your not fighting.

Shaman can merge spellbook with Angel path, Trickster offer various options with the different Trickster Tricks.

I like having a hexer that can fight. Either Woljif or Ember. I mean there's little point in having a character that does one or two hexes and then just stands there watching the grass grow instead of participating in the battle. In RtwP casters are pretty weak because by the time they cast a spell the enemy they were going to use it on is usually already dead from melee attacks. I stopped counting where ember was casting hellfire ray and got interrupted because her target died. It's pretty useless. In turn based this is very different. I think casters are a lot better there. In RtwP they are pretty useless most of the time. So having a rogue that can buff and debuff is very good. Besides hexes are only needed on bosses that last multiple rounds anyway. So cast evil eye and next round you hit them with a debilitating injury and distracting shots lowering enemy AC by a ton. Makes it easier for everyone. Can also add con and str drain on attacks. for other fights the sylvan trickster is just a normal rogue with great debuffing on its own. combine with slayer or whatever else you want and you got a great ranged character.
