Does anyone else think that she should’ve never took her dragon form when she was fighting the Lord of locus? I think the smartest thing to do was to maybe run away, get stronger and come back and face him later

She was a silver dragon. Lawful Good dragons, duty bound and protector of innocents. I don't think running away was ever a thing that she would think of doing. Also, I don't think any dragon would be capable of defeating a demon lord unless they were special Great Wyrms. Demon Lords start at CR25 and go over CR30 while Great Wyrms sit at CR22. So it's not really even in terms of power level so to speak. Deskari sits at CR29 while I'm guessing Terendelev sits at CR18 or something. I don't think she could ever hope to defeat him in combat.

When you are the protagonist you get stronger. When you are someone else you kind of get to a level and stay there your whole life.

EDIT: That isn't true in real life. A lot of people get to a peak. Then they go down.

Terendelev was never going to be a match for a Demon lord, the fight would have ended the same way no matter where and how it took place. As powerful as dragon are by mortal standard they are a far cry from being demigods.

The only advantage of staying in human form would be to maybe be able to dodge the scythe. But it would be only seconds gained.
Don't act like becoming a suit of armor isn't part of a dragon's natural life cycle - we know it, Terendelev knew it.

Dragon’s can in-canon mate with all races for a reason. To think of Dragons as just future scale mail is short sighted and truly the height of depravity.

Correct - they should be thought of as future plate mail -especially red ones. Copper dragons too - burnished copper looks so good on me, and tarnishes with a lovely green patina.

I know, right? It'd be such a waste to not as well turn their meat into dragon steaks, their eyes into scrying orbs, their blood into potions and their bones into building materials. Gotta recycle all parts of the carcass equally. Anything less could be considered as rude.

... and coming from the same person who claims a moral high ground in the gold dragon thread.

I think that thinking realistically like a common folk that'd runaway or be paralyzed by the threat doesn't suit fantasy or SF well. Special imaginative settings require some special imaginative behavior like fighting a lost fight without doubting.
Also, this is a prologue, it sets the ambiance of the story. Demons attacking a city slicing the protecting dragon like it is melted butter. The protagonist, a nobody inferior to that dragon gets a shot at the demon and manage to touch it. An epic story can begin.

Hey now, I take offense on that slander! I'm a moral low ground claimer, in non-good standing! Not mentioning allergic to lofty heights. The rashes and hayfever involved are a real pain this time of the year.

If she had run away would Deskari have left the city with just a few weak demons that can be defeated by 6 low-level characters. Maybe sacrifice was the only way to win in the end?

pretty certain in the tabletop she dies to Khorramzadeh not a demonlord. And that was because she was trying to save people.

Yea her artwork here includes Khorramzadeh: https://pathfinderwiki.com/w/images/9/91/The_Worldwound_Incursion_cover_detail.jpg

To be fair Khorramzadeh is CR26 which is on par with some of the demon lords.
