Can you use combat feats for this like from Vivi or Fighter or only character level feats you get at every odd level?

It is only the odd Level feats in which it unlocks, loads of choices for companions and pets though.

Yep. This is why Gold Dragon feats are actually premium. While Knowledge 3 lets you break feat progression the KC will have very few levels to actually benefit from it.

I mean you could respec and "cheat", but yea it's only two feats unless you hold off on levelling up. You could technically sit on level 14 until you get it at the end of act 4. That's not even that hard to do. So then you get 3 feats.

Gold Dragon feats are great, but like most good things from GD it comes fairly late.

Respec works with companions + mercenaries for knowledge 3 cheese but not the KC as; IIRC, respec forces you to level before advancing your mythic rank. So oddly enough a KC that refuses to respec and minimizes leveling before Mythic 7 is the only way to cheese knowledge 3.

Knowledge 3 is one of the few ways to legitimately cheese respec. That said knowledge 3 inherently breaks any newly hired mercenaries as well so its hardly an issue isolated to respec...

Gold Dragon is underwhelming overall but as a Chapter 5 only mythic path "comes late" is kinda inherent. Dragon feats are probably the only truly redeeming quality of the mythic path and it requires prep to really capitalize on.

Don't forget you get 25 fixed AB and a ton of stats. My GD was very strong. Easily hit 100AB without smite or cleric buffs and stuff.
