Kineticist gather power question.

If I activate the gather power full round ability, but use a non-blast standard action for my first action then hit space bar, will I have started gathering power with what's left of my turn?

Here's the plan.
As a Devil, kineticist I want to do this:

Rnd 1 standard : Hellfire ray
Rnd 1 move: Gather power

Rnd 2 move: Gather Power
Rnd 2 Standard: Blast

Will that work or will it not let me gather power in round 1?

I would sya no. Can't use a full round action as a move action. But the game might treat it differently.

haha no. Gather power only triggers when you trying to shoot kinetic blast. It's not functioning like you can press and gather power for next round and do shoot ray this round
