For a Gold Dragon run...
Been enticed now that this mythic oath is 'complete' and wondering if this seems reasonable...

A Drunken First Monk.

I feel like going caster heavy just kind of ignores that you get to turn into a big honkin' dragon. A lot of the martial paths focus on improving weapon combat(that you won't be using) and shifter basically has to pick between dragon and their major forms.

Looking through useful abilities that carry over, it seems like the drunken ki pool bonuses and the bonus to melee damage (+D8s, forget the name) will both be very effective with dragon form. Also the idea of a giant dragon constantly drunk off it's backside is using as heck.

It feels like an azata path, but trickster might also work. You don't get to keep anything from azata, right?

Feels weird. None of the monk abilities are natural attacks so they won't work in Dragon shape. I think you're better off focussing on a class that enhances natural attacks.

You keep nothing from Azata which is a big bummer. Best Paths are still either Angel, Lich or Trickster if you're looking for things to carry over.

Don't Drunken Combat and Drunken Power carry over? They just say 'melee' attacks.

I know the improved unarmed damage doesn't carry.

Does Devastating Form stack with the Gold Dragon mythic? I'm sure the size increase won't matter, but you get the buffs/rage and having a giant dragon ground pound seems like a good time.

All the druken ki abilities do say "melee attacks" so they should apply to the GD natural attacks.

Frankly, 20 levels in this could be pretty nasty. +6 alchemical bonus on Str, Dex, Con and a drunken pool of 31+Wisdom bonus. That is another +15 to attack and AC (assuming you can carry around enough alcohol) and a -15 to Int. Adding 5d8 to all your attacks is pretty ugly as well.

I can't test this since I don't have the last DLC.

ah.... if only dialogue could be affected by intoxication....

it would be so funny to see this giant gold dragon in charge of the crusades.... waddling around in dragon from just drunk all the time.... slurring their speech too....

Does that Slayer archetype that gives the Vampirre bite work in dragon form? If so that would be kind of cool for a corrupted dragon run.

I don't know specifically about that, but I am pretty sure other bites don't stack so probably not.
