Prisoner of the Abyss quest Sosiel *SPOILERS*
Ok so, I recently did the quest to rescue my dragonfu Aivu from the slave pits, and ended with the "kill all the slavers and free all the slaves" option. Which ended up making me kill the guy that is in charge of the fighting pits apparently? I didn't initially care about this, as I didn't plan on going that route with my "get access to the upper levels" method, but then I remembered that Companion quest for Sosiel, that is apparently tied to the pits.

Did I just break that quest? Or do I just need to bring Sosiel with me to actually trigger that dialogue. Because I'd LOVE to be able to just take Sosiel over to the talking mask on the ground and trigger the next step, but I'm thinking I'm going to have to reload from before the rescue mission, and take him there first?

Any advice on if this is still doable even if you went all Kill Bill on the slave market?

Killing the slave market is no problem. Killing the arena guy is. But they are in different locations and I get the impression you are confusing the arena with the market, since there are slaves in both locations.

Ah, well there is a guy in the market, that is wearing what is described as an obsidian mask, and he talks about being the champion of the arena. And the quest log mentions a man in a dark mask in relation to his brother, so I was like "oh crap, did I just bork that mission?"

The only thing shocking about that Azata episode of chaos unleashed was that it seemed to also kill off the dude from the Pathfinder society who was Hilor's stand in in the Abyss. Don't liquidate him before you need any respecs or new mercs. The others, all demon slaver scum, "deserved it" of course, especially those who would dare kidnap sweet Aivu. You also get to plant a tree, I guess nourished by all that blood. I was shocked I survived, I was afraid to take on many of those guys one on one ... it was sheer chaos, I couldn't keep track of all my chars and pets all over the map, I prayed the AI would take me to victory, it did ... sheer chaos, befitting the Azata path, I guess.

He didn't die when I did it. He actually joined on my side and helped me fight the demons.

Are you saying he just sort of insta-dies after the fact? Or just the fact that since he engages in combat, he risks being killed? Because I didn't go check on him again, but he was more than 50% health by the time I'd cleared the market of all but a handful of enemies

Really what were those idiots thinking; you can't enslave a Dragon it ALWAYS results in you getting fried to a crisp if you try.

Well, he must have died in the chaos (along with 2 of my pets), he was gone after the dust cleared. He may have been fighting on my side, so much was going on it was hard to tell.

I believe you have to talk to the guy in the tavern to advance the quest. The same thing happened to me on my first PT for the same reason, and I think that was how I got it to finally move along.

He actually turns up in the bad luck tavern in the Lower City. He's standing at the bar and will cheerfully provide you with the usual services.

you have to donate gold to him if you want him to help you.

Not always. He was nowhere to be found on my second playthrough.

I donated gold to him, though I didn't know it meant he would help me in that big melee. If you don't donate gold to him, does he go hostile to you? Or does he just stand there doing nothing? Because I kind of assumed the fact that he joined me had nothing to do with giving him gold, it was just that he isn't an evil character, and just based on who he was, he decided that doing a prison break of all the slaves (the whole reason he was down there in the first place, to free slaves and get them out of there), was a good idea.

If you donated, when the fight starts he says " since you helped the pathfinder society's cause I cannot impassively watch the demons spill your guts" and then he is green and help you during the fight.

If you don't donate he uses dimension door to run away when the fight starts

I guess he moved to the Bad Luck Tavern. I wasn't particularly looking for him as in that playthrough I didn't need his services, so I just never bothered to look. I just know he was gone from the "cleansed" Fleshmarkets, as is just about everything but your tree.

Oh, interesting, totally missed that line in the metric ton of chat spam from all the initiatives being rolled when things kick off. :D

Do you know if you don't donate at that point, and he then relocates to the tavern, can you still donate at that point?

Not really an issue for me, as I was more than happy to donate to help his efforts to free slaves, I'm just curious if the game still allows the donation at that point or not.
