Turn based mode ultra laggy
Whenever I enter turn based mode the game just lags tons, it is literally unplayable in turn based for some reason.

Will the devs ever fix this issue? I remember playing before A Dance of Masks released and it worked fine, now it doesn't.

Saw some people telling you to change PhysX to CPU instead of GPU which is something I simply don't want to do every time I want to play the game. Are there any known fixes besides that?

Thanks in advance

Lower settings to potato or do the phsyx fix every time. They can't account for all possible hardware configurations so it may just be something in your setup causing lag during turn based. I've never had lag issues in the game unless I've been playing for hours at which point quickly restarting the game fixes it. Used to play the game on a damn GTX 760 too, don't remember all my old PC specs tbh but it was old and ran the game fairly smooth. Lots of people don't have issues, lots do. It's just part of PC gaming

I have noticed that the game probably has a memory leak. Usually when the game gets super laggy, I can log out, then back in, and it's all good again. This type of problem is usually helped a bit by having more RAM. There are probably settings which can help too.

Memory leak is feature of unity engine though, even though you have 128 RAM after long session it's gonna lag since that's the charm of unity engine

I didn't have ANY lag issues before the latest DLC so it's not my rig that is the issue obviously.

It is definitiely not a RAM issue for me. If it is, this statement may be correct indeed. Had no clue this game was made in Unity but that sure may explain it then.

A memory leak is not fixed by more RAM, it just makes it take longer before it becomes a problem.

the last unity game engine update (last year 2023) fixed a big ton of the game engine code that causes the memory leak. it is now below 3%, where as before it was over 17%.

hopefully they are working on another Unity game engine update to fix the small memory leak that still happens for some..

I don't know why people expect a good Turn based mode when the game was not made to be classical turn based CRPG. Play the game like you are suppose to and 99.99% of the bugs will disappear.

I play turn based primarily and I haven't experienced notable lag.

General memory leak is always a potential concern with many application unfortunately (including things like web browsers) so restarting the application and in severe scenarios even your computer to wipe memory can help. In a broad sense though I also haven't experienced notable memory leak (yet - just restarted after years of hiatus).

Well, I've tried everything! Guess there's nothing I can do other than wait for them to fix it hopefully. Realtime with Pause works fine at least

I had terrible lag in turn based and 2 things helped me! Now its running perfectly. You have to delete all the unnecessary save games, i left only 1. And you have to disable 2 options in settings: Game->Turn-based mode-> Lock the camera to the moving character and Move the camera to the acting character. Hope it helps to anyone who struggles in 2025. Cheers.
