It is definitiely not a RAM issue for me. If it is, this statement may be correct indeed. Had no clue this game was made in Unity but that sure may explain it then.
hopefully they are working on another Unity game engine update to fix the small memory leak that still happens for some..
General memory leak is always a potential concern with many application unfortunately (including things like web browsers) so restarting the application and in severe scenarios even your computer to wipe memory can help. In a broad sense though I also haven't experienced notable memory leak (yet - just restarted after years of hiatus).
