What's the point of the energy resource?
Just to be clear, I'm referring to the strategic map resource, I don't mean the general's energy resource. To get to my main topic though, I'm a bit confused about what to do with the massive stockpile that I could never spend. Nothing really uses them, or if something does, it uses an infinitesimally small amount that is barely a drop in the bucket relative to what I'm getting just from passive income. And that's with me never investing anything into it, it's purely from the post-battle income bonuses. Strategic map spells don't use it either, they only have a cooldown. (I'm a lich if that changes the calculus) Is there a game mechanic I'm missing? I mean, the others are pretty clear. finance for troops, materials for buildings, so it follows that there should be a similar resource dump for energy.

Several decrees require energy points. Unlike finance and material points, you can't just buy energy, so daily income plus special awards are the only source.

All of the second stages of relic development require energy. I'm certain other decrees do as well.

I kepot spending it for recruit devas (repatable every 5 days, cost 80)

I try to minimize how much energy I accumulate since you wind up with so much with just a single sanctuary built (better uses of building space). Use it for relics and never bother with the mythic units unless its for novelty.

there are some buildings that use it as well.
