Now it's better to just manually run with Hippogriff to enemy, and then you can make full attack on that enemy with rider (the usual mounted thing). No reason to use flying attack at all. Sad, gotta delete this Sable Marine save now.
How it worked before patch - after initiative roll you used Flying Attack and rider would full attack the target of Flying Attack, with all his number of attacks - Hippogriff would full attack too.
How it works after the patch - after initiative roll you use Flying Attack and rider will do 1 attack, hippogriff will do full attack. So you better off just manually move the Hippogriff to target, then you can do full attack with all numbers of your attacks. But then, why bother now to use Hippogriff, if you can use Sohei monk who gets Weapon Training?
They added Flying Attack button on a rider, but what's the purpose? Both working the same way. Seems like they just took Ulbrig's griffon form flying attack and put it on hippogriff, thus removing the synergy with the rider.
Also, double weapons are still bugged (like Regil's hooked hammer).
1. If it counts like a charge, ignoring bugs, it is ok to limit it to only 1 attack IMO
2. Flying attack on Ranger bar was a QoL change especially for console gamers that could not select it from the pet. Nothing more than this
3. Flying attack still give you Falt footed bonus against any target, Still an amazing feat, especially after the nerf to Shatter defenses. You either go Feint or go Flying attack, no other way
4. Thanks to how Flying attack works, you can Flying attack every odd/even turn. So think of hitting with a charge, x2 damage every 2 turns, on a flat-footed target.....that is VERY powerful.
5. Capstone strategy:
You can Fly attack every 2 turns. meaning you charge crit a flat footed target every 2 turns. If you go trickster you can either use a Scryther and Crit x6 every 2 turns, or go Spear and Crit x5 x2 every 2 turns. Thats beyond broken. 600+ (proably a lot more) damage guaranteed every 2 turns against Flat-Footed targets
This class is still amazingly good
and if they fix Spirited Charge + Spear....this goes Broken x 2

If you don't like the flavour of a flying Hippogriff, dive down, hit, fly up, dive down, hit fly up and so on, and you like a more pet attack x time, i attack X time...then i think you better go Dog with TWF. Trip + A LOT of attacks...non of them flat footed tho
Before only mount used Flying Attack. I think this is the cause of the new bug, where you press Flying Attack on enemy and nothing happens - but action is wasted. Happens not that often, thankfully.
Full attack from Flying Attack now works if you have pounce, so the new build will be Kitsune and getting Vulpine Pounce at lvl 11.
The archetype is now not worth picking, like all other newly added archetypes. Does not provide anything unique from the get go.
Still hasn't happend. Works well on my side. Never waste the action and hits x2 dmg. pretty good
The reason of my posts is just to prove the opposite. This archetype is pretty good.
Reliable Flat-footed starting lvl 1 all game long.
Guaranteed crits every 2 turns as Captstone
Charge without line of sight issues
Ranger class (15 talents, full BaB, favoured enemy, spells)
It was unique archetype that allowed you to Full Attack flat footed AC from lvl 1, trip everything in 5 meters range from lvl 7, and move around battlefield without terrain restrictions.
Now Sable Company is just a worsened Cavalier.
I don't understand
it was never supposed to let you hit Full-Attack flat footed. only the first attack was FF, all the others were normal AC. That is how it worked yesterday

Soooooo still a great class IMO
oh...not every capstone is good. Some classes benefit A LOT more from 19/1 than pure class
This class has a lvl 20 ability that is extremely powerful. Not a lot of classes can say that...very few in truth
In theory
If u activate it from the rider you correctly do a single charge attack
If you activate it from the pet, then it is no more a charge attack, but the pet charges and you attack normally, possibly without Flat-footed, and surely without any x2 bonus dmg from charge feats
The first option is how it is supposed to work
The absence of charge bonus feat functionality was definitely an error though, to be sure.
