Resting Bug !! Corrupted Save

Sometime during ACT1, resting stopped functioning properly for me, what happens is, when I choose to rest, in a level or in base, I get the usual screen where I assign people to tasks, when I start resting I get a black screen which takes like 30seconds to finish, and at the end I see that nothing actually happened during rest, no potions crafted, no corruption advanced, no scrolls, etc...

WTF? is this occurring for me only?

Are you attempting to craft scrolls? I have a theory that this might be happening when I try to craft a scroll that I can't craft

It happens with scrolls with variations (Dispel Magic, Summon Elemental etc.)

Btw, if you choose such a scroll for crafting, it doesn't even appear in the scroll-scribing screen (you see your previous choice of the spell).

I had to basically restart the game, as this corrupted my save entirely. It happened again on a new save, but thankfully this time I had way more quick-saves and auto-saves, so I could return to an earlier one. This one is a game breaker.

I encounted something like this when trying to scribe scrolls when resting, I would avoid crafting any scrolls when resting until there is a fix

Just to be save since this has happened in the past; is there any chance that having ToyBox installed is the trigger for this issue?

Wrath updates, do not repair or update any old game saves before the update came out. you need to start a new game.

WTF? is this occurring for me only?

If you press "enter" seems bypass it.

"enter" is the hotkey to bypass cut scenes you've already scene, so I'm thinking it thinks the black after crafting is a cutscene.

Not sure on the other effects, but if no corruption, perhaps take it as a blessing?

No, I'm not using ToyBox

Yep, resting is broken. Just happened to me, though the symptoms are different. For me, food isn't being cooked and scrolls aren't being created. In fact, when coming out of rest, both selections in the resting menu are blanked out. Nothing appears in the logs, no buffs appear on the characters and nothing is new in the inventory.

It's blank for me too, but food and scrolls are being created as normal. But this was already an issue before latest patch.

Experimenting shows it has something to do with trying to scribe scrolls with metamagic, but not all scrolls with metamagic, just some of them. For me, Plague Storm: Cackle Fever with selective spell breaks it, but Prismatic Spray with selective spell does not. This is the first time I've ever encountered this, and have never heard of it happening before.

So this game has had save issues corrupting and resting problems since release.. and still does. Just wow. Absolute basic functionality broken

I've never experienced save corruption. Also this is the first time I've heard of is, so apparantly it's not widespread. Lot's of issues are caused by mods as well.

Happened to me on two different runs, without mods - both cases, save was corrupted.
For anyone who's interested, I noticed that a symptom of this ABOUT to happen, is that potions/scrolls/food will not change according to your selection, just show whatever was there before - if this happens to you, DISABLE ALL rest related activities, complete the rest, and this fixes it (at least twice now), your next rest will be fine.
