I don't think you really need to worry about it all that much, IMO. Although after a certain unfortunate encounter in Kingmaker, I did get into the habit of always keeping a cold iron dagger or sword in one of my weapon slots.
This is the overwhelmingly powerful solution during the early game. Sadly it is quite easy to miss. Worse is the fact that you will find yourself in a very difficult position if you do not acquire it immediately after unlocking your first Mythic Ability the second, and final, time you visit Gray Garrison in Act 1.
There may be some language issues here, but this post is a bit misleading:
An enemy with 5/Cold Iron and 10/Magic hit by a solely Cold Iron weapon will still have 10 DR.
Every Character and Companion's first Mythic Level provides the ability to ignore DR/- , there is no DR/- you need to concern yourself with in the game.
You cannot find the Covenant immediately after beating Minagho the first time, the fact that you travelled to the Grey Garrison locks you from Kenabras. You need to find it *before* you head to the Grey Garrison or you will never find it.
Yeah I was wondering about that. So this feature is completely useless?
Explanation might be needed here because I don't see that. I can see ignoring DR/epic but not DR/-.
It's mostly for flavor, it let's you bypass Epic damage resistance and that's probably how the game justify you being able to damage the few demigods you can fight in this game whit any weapon.
You need to make it immediately at the start of Act 2 or you won't be able to make it until Act 3.
