But 'Through the Ashes' (season 1) features a separate campaign featuring an entirely different hero & companions. It takes place at the same time as the first act of the main campaign. If you've played through it, the main game will make minor references to it and you'll get an extra item. (But nothing major)
'The Lord of Nothing' (season 2) is the sequel to that second group's storyline.
All the other DLC directly affect the main game. The two I mentioned above are the most skippable, since its a seperate story, but I found them fun.
If you were only to buy one DLC, I'd pick 'The Last Sarkorian' since that adds a new romancable companion and new classes. The final DLC 'Dance of Masks' will probably also be must have since it will include 11 new archtypes for the player and a story that sounds similar to that awesome 'Citadel' DLC from mass effect 3. (party with companions, more romance stuff and adventures)
Thank you so much for the reply! That was very helpful. With the newest DLC coming out so soon I should probably hold off playing the game in general until it comes out. I went ahead and got the bundle with Kingmaker to tide things over until then at least.
Thank you for all your insight, I’m looking forward to getting around to this game
