Angel is the most powerful choice for oracle if you combine the spell book. That is for sure.
There are a lot of ways to build an oracle. I usually build it to fill a party role. So that is the typical life saving buff spells and heal spells and restoration. However if you have someone else fill that role an oracle can go blaster. With blackened you can go ray blaster. I checked and the -4 to hit or whatever doesn't do anything to your rays from the test I did. You could go fire and just blast everything. Up to you.
EDIT: Can't point you to a guide. I pretty much don't use guides.
Take scimitar (I like to max religion out with this and look at faith bearer) or the always recommended gravesinger (great axe) - then the usual combat stuff, outflank - weapons focus/greater/improved critical provided by the battle revelation. Oh and greater enduring spells too - dealing with ability debuffs is a pain. Also like to work in master shapeshifter somewhere for that +4
As for curses - lame and then plagued for me as dual cursed - just lame otherwise
edit - also keeping the build pure oracle helps too, with nature - the last time I played - the "friend to animals" revelation applied to the caster at level 20, by changing type to animal. Might be a bug - I don't know, but it copies the paladin ability (char to saves) for no dip
