How does one make use of Spell Strike as a Magus?
What it says on the tin, and that makes me feel stupid but I want to play a magus.
I can't seem to get consistent results trying to activate Spell Strikes with the magus. I've only gotten it to work (intermittently) with 1st level spells so I can only do it once per rest.

I switch between keyboard/mouse and controller depending on if the controller if giving false inputs that day.

i would also love to know the intricate mechanics of spell strike with magus. I always find my magus with spell strike toggled on would stand there casting shocking grasp before entering combat. Is this how it is supposed to work? I was under the impression you would attack and use shocking grasp at the same time as it takes the place of the off hand weapon. shocking grasp is toggled to auto cast

Playing on real time with pause

I play on Turn Based like the old man that I am.

Touch spells need you to touch enemies to hit, and spellstrike allows you to swing a weapon to deliver the spell instead of just touching them. So when it works, you cast the touch spell, then swing your weapon. If your weapon attack hits (notably, against normal AC) your spell hits. This can allow your spell to critically hit too. You can combine this with spell combat to effectively have another attack per turn, assuming you have spells to cast and can stomach the to hit penalty, though note that this is a full round action.

Touch attacks are kinda wonky in this game, so it's hard sometimes to tell if they work or not.

I understand how it might work on the tabletop, but how does a player of Owlcat's games get their magus character in the video game to do a Spell Strike in the video game? I do not understand the process. What steps are needed to make the game do what I want?

Just cast melee touch spell like Shocking Grasp or Vampiric Touch. And its fullround action so you cant use movepoints.

Oh i think i get it now. For example i will cast shocking grasp then i will run up to the monster then i will swing my weapon once which will trigger the shocking grasp cast?

I think on turn based it will cast the shocking grasp then it will be considered stored and the next time you swing your weapon on the target it will "cast" shocking grasp

Please correct me if i am wrong with my example.

Feels abit clunky but i guess it is a limitation of the engine

When you have spellcombat ability learned and activated all you need is to use melee touch spell on enemy. If you used spell and have spellcombat then your character will cast said spell on your weapon and then autoattack with your number of attacks+1(first hit will deal weapon damage+spell damage). Said spell can crit(normal spells cant crit). If you miss all attacks that round then this spell charge transfer to next round untill you hit with it.

Thank you very much.

The important part is that it's in a single full action. So you need to be in close range already and not move that turn to be sure you don't use your move action for spell strike to register.
