never used divine weapon personally....

but Seelah with a horse that tanks.... is great... I mean the mobility.... the synergy with outflank teamwork feat... it also makes it so you can be more aggressive with Seelah with feats and such since horse is tanking....

I even give Sosiel a horse as well with a mythic feat.....

plus as a horse.... animal growth will actually increase their size by one catergory.... meaning you can use animal growth on the horse and cast enlarge person mass on your party without having to worry about pet not actually increasing in size..... which enlarge person also increases weapon size by 1.... so an increase in damage and range that helps with...

Weapon bond is limited times per day. Four at most, I think. Pets are forever. Unfortunately, even with mythical beast upgrade, and those super high stats, they seem to be one of the first things to go down in a fight. I think a lot of people prefer mounts for the speed and extra damage.

No. Pets are ultimate tanks in the game with super high AC. Especially in early game.

They're not, but okay.

Your preference, pets are mechanically superior by providing melee characters full attacks after moving, plus extra hp/damage of the mount itself. I use the weapon bond anyways because I don't like having very many pets in the group and it feels silly having Seelah traverse small doorways and narrow hallways on horseback.

I can't even compare an overpowered extra party member with an ability you can only use a few times a day. Divine Weapon would need to provide a bonus with 100% uptime to compare to the horse in my opinion.

The Horse's extra carrying capacity alone is more valuable than Weapon bond.
Weapon Bond is good in like through the ashes and such where, item levels are low. Moment you can get good gear the weapon bond is less useful. In table top its good because you never know if the DM is gonna give you good gear and animal companions are less busted.

In WOTR the animal companion is almost always better then the weapon bond.

horse with bulwark class feature... feats like crane style and crane wing.... necklaces of natural armor.... those things really add up...

I even buff them with mage armor instead of normal armor to keep their dex to AC high.... by beginning of Act 3.... my horses AC are like in the 30's...

You can actually reach 40+ AC with Leopard in the beggining of act2 easily.

you should have divine weapon bond up 100 percent of the time you're fighting, it's minute per level, if you're out of resources you rest, or you could just do enduring spells and have 24 hour divine weapon bond

I think that the horse is op defensively but I really think it is outclassed by the potential damage on divine weapon bond

the horse is good defensively but the offensive of 10 minute haste/holy/axiomatic/flaming burst on one weapon, especially on the trickster mythic path kind of blows the horse out of the water

take a one level dip into beast rider at level 4 and get a dog for seelah to ride. you lose the paladin captstone but you get a full progression pet that does decent damage and trips the enemies it attacks

alternatively a one rank dip in sable marine at 4 will give you a flying charge at the start of the combat to get seelah straight into the thick of the action without worrying about the annoying charge line

I thought I was going to like this, but the sheer size of the mount eventually annoyed me enough to respec. Even with basic animal growth the mount is about 4 times the size of Bismuth (who is already a bit of chuncky boi).

I gotta say I find it funny that I now appreciate how animal growth doesn't increase the actual size of most mounts.

For extra fun, cast legendary proportions on the griffon. Also, say goodbye to seeing anything BUT the griffon.

basically the game is counting animal growth spell as the same space as a natural growth... so if you have a animal that grows by one size category... animal growth wont increase its size.... but you can use a legendary proportions on an animal that has a growth and it'll increase its size...

I personally like the size increase... my horses are huge catergory.... and everyone is large thanks to enlarge person mass.... and with Nenio with enduring and greater enduring im pretty much running those 24/7... lol

pets are great, but I tend to have 2 max since they take so much space. In smaller areas everyone just gets stuck on one another, blocking doorways, preventing people from actually hitting enemies. It sucks. If I have Seelah in the party I always set her up with Divine Weapon. It's pretty good. I don't want horses and I don't want anyone to ride anything.
