Pathfinder Role Play
What do you think it would be like if the samurai class was added and katana-like weapons were added? I love the role of the wandering bard samurai. Pathfinder and Dnd lovers, what do you think? What role do you play?

I would love it tbh, but could be difficult balance wise with the setting and their own mythic feats
Nothing much. You might get a new flavor dialogue or two to accompany the new classes. But otherwise it's more of the same. Unless Owlcat homebrews the Samurai we pretty much get another Cavalier. Katanas would get to enjoy the Deadly weapon feature, but it's Coup de Grace specific.

Honestly, they're classes that only really shine if we see them in a game where either Minkai or Tian Xia are the main focus. I wouldn't say "no" to a Jade Regent cRPG adaption by Owlcat in the future myself.
Yeah, samurai is just a cavalier with katana/spear/bow predetermined weapon feats. You can pretty much already make it yourself. Just make a cavalier using a dueling sword (it's the closest weapon to the katana mechanically).

There are other classes that would be more legitimate, like the brawler (seriously, this one is clearly missing), the spiritualist or the summoner (but I know the summoner is hard to implement).
The classes already exist in the tabletop. They could certainly add katanas, wakazashi, naganatas, etc. But they really don't fit in very well with the society for the Mendalvian area.
Given that both are alternates to existing classes and would at best be a "subclass" like the archetypes are what do they bring to the game that isn't already on offer.

Would rather the rest of the actual classes that aren't in the game but a lot of the ones that are left i'd see the issues with implementation or not fitting well when something already is similar. And then there is still oodles of Archetypes that could be used as "subclasses"

There is a Samurai class, but it has not been added to the game yet. Likewise Katana, Nodachi and Wakizashi. I think it will add great flavor if added to the game. Think about the roles you could create.
In Pathfinder, Samurai is just a reskin of the cavalier, and ninja a reskin of the rogue. They are basically the same classes, with maybe 20 to 30 % of different/alternate features.
How can I perform the role of Rurouni Kenshin in the game? Keywords: Katana, Dex based, Quick Swordsman(parry-counter-fast), Wanderer.

The Aldori sword lords (from Kingmaker) can be seen as a type of samurai, in a way, except they use the dueling sword instead of the katana. But in the lore, that weapon is only used by them (their fighting technique is kinda unique) and they have a high opinion on honor, so ...
At the same time, I want to have fun while playing, so what is the optimal class and skill choice?
Aldori defender with aldori swordlord. Fighters are great martial characters.
Cavalier. Katana were but a sidearm used by samurai. Their main weapons remained the spear and bow. So I guess a mix of dueling sword, longbow and long spear would be the most historically accurate way to roleplay one in WotR.

Or try and see if the Samurai mod[www.nexusmods.com] still works on the current game build.

I would play Legend of the Five Rings then, and not Pathfinder.
Bad enough that i have to suffer all this eastern monk nonsense in my cosy medieval Europe(mostly) fantasy.

Monks and fistfights don't interest me either. But I love sword fights. My favorite types of swords are Katana and Long Sword.

Then aldori swordsman is your class: unarmored or lightly armored, dueling sword and nothing else, HEMA in the nutshell.
But that katana nonsense better stay on Rokugan where it rightfully belongs.
