Both concepts I feel are oddly placed time wise because it kinda puts them close to the end where it feels like you shouldn't be spending time away from what the main objective of the game is, but it's kind of the only place they can be put that works, Mass Effect because you need to do every character's part to get them in the dlc and wrath because of the whole chapter 4 thing.
I like the idea of dlcs like this, but I've found their placement always kinda bugs me a little. I wish something like this was planned out along with the original story rather than a tail end edition to it so it felt a little less like it was being shoe horned in.
With that said, I'm sure it will be enjoyable.
To get back on point, no. I think the plan is this being the capping off of the game content wise. You usually don't do something like this and continue making content for that game afterward.
