Loremaster feat issues... still.
Tried to make use of the Hide of Elemental Carnage for a lich evoker, but dipping into loremaster for arcane armor mastery apparently doesn't reduce spell failure the full 20% like the text states.

I've always been skeptical of skipping feats for the full effect with Loremaster secrets, even though I see so many builds like utilize it. Is that intended by Owlcat or have they just been plugging holes as they pop up with this ability?

Technically a bug since the ability says it replaces the bonus given by Arcane Armor feat.

Wouldn't surprise me if they coded Arcane Armor Mastery way back in Kingmaker to give another -10% on top of the -10% from Arcane Armor feat and never thought about the problems some of the mythic paths could create allowing you to skip pre-requisites.

Alt+B in game to report the bug.

Neoseeker. You're talking about those terrible, and widely reviled Neoseeker builds.

They're bad.

Avoid.

in the meanwhile a workaround i'd say is to find another feat to replace it....

im unsure of your build but if your a sorcerer then in order to wear that medium armor you'd need light armor proficiency, medium armor proficiency, arcane armor training, and finally arcane armor mastery.....

medium armor proficiency also could be one that has light armor as a prerequisite and could use loremaster to gain it without the light version...

Using a secret to get Medium armor prof. worked just fine, but sinking that many feats (without loremaster) just to get +1 per hit die in damage is absolutely not worth it on any build.

I sunk in the 4 feats on my ember on my lich play through, she already had the metamagic. she always has extra feats to burn with me. easily would have sunk in a 5th feat too, she has feats to spare

skill focus arcana, combat secret medium armour prof, arcane armour training / mastery.

more damage is always better. had she not gone loremaster you just swap the skill focus for light armour prof. alternatively whenever i take her arcane trickster i usually go 1 vivi which gets you the light armour prof

seeker sorcerer gains pretty much +7 bonus feats.... 3 from bloodline and 3 from seeker and 1 bonus at first level..... so you could pick a background like bounty hunter to gain light armor proficiency at level 1 and only need 3 more feats to qualify for the armor...

It's ok for Winter Witch since they get a +2 to caster level for cold spells. Take one level in Shaman, which gives you the light and medium armor feats. My present build for Ember is 1 shaman, 1 sorcerer, 10 winter witch, 8 stigmata witch. But I also have the shield which adds another +1 per die damage.

For winter witch, one thing I want to mention is that you might not want to take it to level 8. It unlocks an ability that converts half of the cold damage to untyped or something else, which means if you are a cold focused caster, you lose overall damage. It is so it can bypass immunities, but in most cases you will be taking ascendant element cold anyways. This might be a non issue, especially if you are more focused on CC over damage, I just wanted to mention this.

Not really unless you have something that causes the target to become vulnerable to cold damage. The damage bonus per die doesn't care if half that die is unholy, holy or even beatpoetry.

Hm strange, I remember a noticeable dip in damage when I last tested it, many moons ago. It might have to do with the interactions with metamagics? Hard to keep track of all this stuff.
