Woljif buffer build thoughts

Woljif vivisectionist just isn't doing it for me.

My current thought is something like ES 3, BFT 9, then the rest EK or AT for the BAB or precision damage. The main point is the 9 levels of brown fur transmuter. Sure, Woljif will never hit level 9 spells, or get his BFT capstone ability (an ability easily duplicated with Mythic feats), but he'll still get a heck of a lot more useful buff spells than the vivisectionist (and still share the "personal" ranged ones if they're transmutation).

The point is I want him to buff effectively (I don't care what you say, alchemists aren't great at this because their spell selection is anemic) and still flank in melee.

Well it kinda depends on the role you're planning him for but there's nothing wrong with just going straight ES 20. It's actually a really strong archetype. Or you can dip 4 levels into Duelist to make him way more survivable.

Only bft 9? He'll only reach arcane spell level 4. He'll be a lousy buffer. You do realise that some of the best transmutation spell (legendary proportion/dragonkind 3/frightful aspect) are higher level right? Woljif might as well stay es4/vivi16 and be a decent melee and decent buffer.

You could go es3/bft 17. He'll only reach arcane spell level 8. But he'll get those aforementioned spells. He'll be a better buffer and semi decent melee.

Only better yet, get a lv20 Bft Merc.

Yeah, I just fiddled with my idea some in-game and it wasn't great.

I usually just move him into Sword Saint and just keep dumping all his levels into that. The ability he eventually gets in that which allows him to make his attacks touch attacks makes him gruesomely deadly. Plus you can get Transformation which boosts his BAB. And since he qualifies for fighter only feats you can get weapon specialization.

I agree. Didn't do it for me either. Most build guides point to that specific class as the best for him, but I didn't enjoy it much.

Just go Eldritch Scoundrel and get Enduring Spells / Greater Enduring Spells. Buffing with the typical buffs, Blur, Haste... that's really good to attach to a Debilitating Injury bot.

I'd also say add master shapeshifter with enduring spells too, that's +4 to physical stats + qualification for those bracers in Drezen that add (I think) +3 to attack
