Hunter archetypes revisited?
I am relatively new to the game and, like many, am stuck in the restart loop. Looking at the class guides for hunter they all say divine hound is best because animal focus are easily replaced by gear.

Now that animal focus is an inherent bonus instead of enhancement is there any update to that consensus? Are archetypes like divine hunter or wandering marksman more viable, or is divine hound the clearly superior option?

Thanks!

If you are new the the game, and especially if you are new to the dnd/pathfinder system, I would suggest playing on a lower difficulty.

On these the power level of classes really doesn't matter too much and I would recommend not to be too hang up on guides.

Just select something that sounds interesting to you.

As for Hunter archetypes, the change might be indeed better. Especially the Forester as it can now apply additional inherent bonus to your character instead. Though I have no idea how exactly that will shake out in a "strenght rating".

Might be really good or just meh.

Well, getting Judgement is another reason why Divine Hound is the best Hunter archetype. That hasn't really changed. It's kinda situational since it has so few charges, which is why I personally don't rate it very highly, but it's a great feature either way.

I made Wendu into a Colluding Scoundrel and so far I've been pretty happy with it.
