A heavy armor made out of Mithral is considered medium, medium light and light stays light.
Never put too much thought into this in the context of the game, but... here we go, this distinction is actually relevant for once.
So... yeah, Carapace as a mithral full plate should be considered medium armor. The important thing now would be to find out, what kind of armor focus applies and if it's heavy armor focus, then maybe that should also be fixed.
E: You will still need the original armor proficency though, that's explicitely stated in the Mithral special rule. So for a full plate you still need Heavy Armor Proficency, even if Mithral (if it does) reduces it to a medium armor.
Thx everyone!
I am kind of surprised noone stumbled upon this "problem" until now. I did read people opt out for pajama armor a lot but still.
So for example a duelist can wear a mithral medium armor and still get benefits from duelist abilities that require light armor.
I guess DMs have their own interpretations of this, so maybe Owlcat decided to implement it like this, but it would be extremely weird, the regular armor focus feats work with mithral armor of their category (heavy armor focus works with carapace), but mythic armor focus feats that require these original feats don't? IMO this is a bug.
