Yeah you can. The mythic path choices will heavily move your alignment towards Chaotic, though, so staying NG might be a challenge afterwards.

I started as CG, became azata and ended the game as NG, so it's definitely possible

You can unlock azata with any allignment. Once you become azata, the path will force you to become CG/NG/CN.

No you can be a neutral good Azata, both satisfying your god and azata mythic path.

If all else fails, you can always use a scroll of atonement to bring your alignment back to it's original point.

Save before doing that. (It will take you to CG if you're already an azata.)

Before your mythic path choice, scrolls of atonement take the character to the initial alignment, but after selecting a mythic path, it'll go to the nominal mythic path alignment.

You sure? I've used it before and it always went to my original alignment. And yes, that was long after choosing a path.

EDIT: Ok, after some digging it appears the critical moment is MR8. As far as I can tell, that's where the scroll changes behavior.

I've gone from ...

a) LE zen archer
b) LE aeon zen archer
c) LN aeon zen archer

Scroll of atonement at that point centered me in the LN wedge - still Act 3 at that point. I could probably find the video evidence - I know it happened during Sosiel's quest when we went back to the Chapel.

edit:
Found it. Perhaps it's because at that time, my character was in the nominal aeon alignment? Maybe if I had used the scroll when the character was still LE, it might have re-centered in LE?

Anyway, it's at 38:05 in the following video:

Well that doesn't make sense. Did they change the behavior of those scrolls at some point? I know I've gone from Good to Neutral using them, and that was because I needed to do an alignment adjustment to placate Zacharias.

That video is old (version 1.1.x), so maybe it's the other way around. Maybe it has changed to how you think it works?

I cannot confirm any of the following, but others have mentioned something about alignment lock. I think that means within one step of the nominal mythic alignment (i.e. no quest to change your alignment). If you're alignment locked, then scrolls of atonement brings you to the mythic alignment. But, if you're not yet locked (or before you choose the mythic path), atonement brings you back to alignment at creation.
