Can you even get basic platemail and large shield and sword? I've seen like wood stick this far it's ridiculous. It's not "low magic" it's just way overboard.
there is not much gear to be found but the scenario is meant to be played without the need to, i recommand play it on core difficulty max, if u have a gear dependant class, do normal,
i dont think playing this on hard or unfair makes much sense to be honest but classes that dont need gear to be effective will be better in this, yeah
Well...This is a story of civilians, not fighters. thief/spy, medic, blacksmith, actor, scholar/illusionist...
It gets better as you level up, though. You can even hire your own handmade characters at some point.
Hexes, animal companions, unarmed attacks, savescam, looking for different ways to do things....Use everything what you can - it's supposed to be a survival run.
That's the point, though.
You can - and SHOULD avoid battles, inless you confident you can chew up and spit out pretty much everything game will throw at you.
Swarms at lvl 1, huge group of enemies, centepede boss and gelatinous cubes soon after...Etc.etc.etc.
I've made almost full party that's not problem. Just that it's fantasy game with fantasy characters with classes. You should find at least basic weapons and armor pretty easily it does not make sense you don't find any. It just very needlessly gimps characters that are supposed to use them in favor of characters that don't need any and do not need to rest i.e. monk and kineticist. Or have pets and other op stuff. I don't really find that challenging I can do it no problem I know all the exploits but I'd rather just use normal characters but that does not seem really even remotely possible idea to start with.
you should be weak in the DLC with trash gear, that is why the options tell you (several times) to try and avoid combat, hence combat doesn't even give you exp. other workarounds do. just that there are broken builds that do well in combat doesn't mean the game was designed to play like that. yet you will always have those who love and try break the game like that (power to them).
but again it's not the way it was designed
