Which character class do you want next?
If Owlcat was going to add another class from Paizo's tabletop version, which class would you most want to see next?

d20pfsrd.com/classes/

Quite a lot. And that's not even including the different archetypes available to them.

Personaly I hate DLCs like Beneath the Stolen Land and Treasure of Midnight Isles. Low story content, a lot of fighting. I was forcing myself to do standalone to just complete all achivements.

Those are my favorites. If the game was nothing but those, I would totally buy them.

Pathfinder has 37-46 different classes, depending on how you count them.

At least 37 are indisputably distinct classes with their own archetypes, options, etc.

Core Classes (Those borrowed from D&D)
Barbarian
Bard
Cleric
Druid
Fighter
Monk
Paladin
Ranger
Rogue
Sorcerer
Wizard

Base Classes (Pathfinder original classes that are level 1 to 20 just like the Core classes)
Alchemist
Cavalier
Gunslinger
Inquisitor
Magus
Oracle
Shifter
Summoner
Vigilante
Witch

Hybrid Classes (more Pathfinder original classes formed out of combining features from two Core or Base classes)
Bloodrager
Arcanist
Brawler
Hunter
Investigator
Slayer
Warpriest
Swashbuckler
Shaman
Skald

Occult Classes (which feature a 3rd type of magic: Psychic [after Divine and Arcane])
Kineticist
Medium
Mesmerist
Occultist
Psychic
Spiritualist

In addition to those:
  • 3 more classes are "alternate" classes to other classes (Samurai -> Cavalier, Ninja -> Rogue, Anti-Paladin -> Paladin. They function like independent classes but cannot be multiclassed with their alternate. They have their own archetypes and unique options.
  • 4 more are "Unchained" classes (Rogue, Barbarian, Summoner, and Monk) that feature alternative versions of the original classes of the same name re-written for the "Pathfinder Unchained" book. Some people think they are worse and some people think they are better. Your mileage may vary. Owlcat used the Unchained versions of rogue, barbarian, and monk in its games. (The Traditional Monk archetype reverts the Monk back to its original version with a high Will Save and 3/4th BAB.)
  • 2 more are semi-official classes done by Paizo people in collaboration with 3rd party companies. One is the Omdura (from the "N i o b e" [Steam censors the word for some odd reason] comics, inspired by African folklore, and is akin to a paladin/inquisitor hybrid). The other is the Vampire Hunter (from "Vampire Hunter D" manga/anime and is similar to a ranger/inquisitor hybrid with a "Van Helsing"/"Buffy" feel).

How about a Warlock class? Yeah this class is from dnd but the whole game is about dealing with demons but strange that wotr has no class that specifically associated with demons

If I remember correctly from the internet. This was something that a guy that worked for paizo said. They were terrified of the name warlock. Something to do with copy right. So they all tip toed around it.

Witch, Sorcerer, Bloodrager, Warpriest, Oracle and Shifter all can be build with ties to demons in one way or another. Most notably of all is probably the Demon Dancer Skald archetype in this regard.

In tabletop there's also the Demoniac[www.d20pfsrd.com] prestige class. Which is more in line with the classic demon summoning cultist trope. Fun fact: Areelu Vorlesh actually possesses levels in this very prestige class in PnP. An interesting one, that one. But also kind of pointless to have around. given we already have the Demon mythic path.

As far as Warlocks go, they already exist in Pathfinder. Not as its own class, mind you, but as an archetype[www.d20pfsrd.com] for the Vigilante class. Basically a super hero/anti-hero/villain/what-have-you with a double identity. No ties to demons or other patrons tho. Paizo's take is more similar to a ranged Magus.

Alright fine then if that is true I'm wrong.

They said that the Magus was going to be called "Warlock" but they didn't want players confusing it with the D&D Warlock class so they changed the name. The "eldritch blaster" class concept was revamped into the kineticist.

Later, they made an archetype for vigilante named "warlock" that uses arcane bolts and is superficially similar in concept to the D&D Warlock.

Totally agree

Main game story requires COMMITMENT, which is not a resource many people working 9 to 5 have. BtSL and ToMI on the other hand is a great mode to just chill and test some builds

Edit: One thing I don't like about ToMI though is that Owlcats blocked "less party - more exp" option. In BtSL you could run a party of 4 or 3 or even 1 PC and do pretty good. In ToMI running less than 6 PC's is pretty much not viable without at least some optimising

Agreed. I think it was because at the time (2009), they wanted to totally remake the Warlock class from D&D 3.5 version and changed it so much it became unrecognizable.
Ginzo Force Oct 26, 2023 @ 11:37pm
Circus Trainer, Wizard with a Pet Elephant who can cast illusion and enchantment spells but all other schools are opposition

the elephant has a 15 foot reach with the trunk weapon has cleave and knockback

Warlock as a name is copyrighted to Marvel. Marvel wasn't enforcing their copyright when they were independent but Disney, their owner since 2009, is notorious for doing just so. So Blizzard and WotC kinda got away with it since Disney can't copyright claim them anymore as they've been using the name for so long without a reaction. But anyone new trying to use it could possibly face Disneys army of lawyers.

Reminds me how a German beer brand tried to copyright Norse god names for their products. And equally destined to not work in the eye of the law.
