The Spyware is allegedly gone and the devs say they requested that the information gathered to be deleted. ... I tend to believe them since the Spyware was only in the game for a day or two.
I'd have to compare what the editions offered and am on my phone so sorry.
The stories take place in the same world but are otherwise unconnected ... I'd personally recommend playing them in order though.
Pathfinder is nothing like DoS or BG(3) ... its more like the Original BG(1) & (2).
2. look at the editions closer.... one may be cheaper but the other version has season pass 1 to it.... which there is a season pass 2 as well... only the first part of season pass 2 bundle is out though but all of season pass 1 is available... which btw thats it as far as DLC's goes... season pass 1 and season pass 2 are only planned DLC content for the game.... devs said so before I recall that was the limit...
3. no need to play kingmaker first... in fact I havent played it either.... think there are some easter eggs from first game in this one but thats about it as far I know that connects them any more than that...
4. its relative to what you like.... I played DOS2.... I liked that game but I havent got as absorbed in that game as I do this one... but I think thats cause of the story aspect... I mean DOS2 I get bored kinda by time I reach like 70% of Act 2.... the characters and the story IS there... just isnt really popping out... meanwhile in here the details to your companions is layers of layers to nice storytelling... even down to their base statistics match up if you look up what the ability score modifiers mean...
But if you already have it, you should play it first. Because it IS a great game but it will be hard to go back to KM after having played WotR. Simply because WotR has more of everything basically. More classes, races, etc so you'll feel somewhat limited if you played with the wealth of options WotR gives you first.
is the story of WotR connected from KM ?
now WotR is on discount. I'm not sure when will the next discount came :(
They share the same setting, Pathfinder, so they CAN share things and characters, especially long-lived ones, and that's where the easter eggs come from. The 2 games are some undefined, but less than a 100 years, time apart from each other.
You could just buy WotR now but delay playing it for after you've played Kingmaker. Since you already have it.
now I get it
thanks mate!
Well, if you saw a thread, then i am sure the answer already was in that thread.
Commander Edition are a bunch of items of indetermined usefulness, the Soundtrack and a Digital Map of the world.
The soundtrack is good... a Map can be found online.
Is the addition of the Soundtrack worth to you? It is for some, it isn't for others.
Kingmaker is a campaign on its own. There is a little crossover in form a few references and a character or two... as a whole both are unrelated and you can play them in whatever order. However WotR got extra Classes and Features added, so playing Kingmaker first might be a bit more bearable than the other way around.
That being said.. many people don't get into Kingmaker due to the ticking doomsday clock you fight against.
Everyone has their faults :)
Do i think you will be in love with the Mushroom Pizza when you like Pineapple Pizza? Maybe? How would we know?
The two are very different games and i would argue that DoS2 isn't a good Story but lots of people love the mechanics.
If you hope to turn water puddles, created by a Rain spell, into Poisonous Gas then no, you will not find that here.
I personally don't think Larian could tell a compelling story if their lives depended on it, based on the fact that i played their games ever since the first Divinity Game in the 2002... but at the same time i also know Kingmaker didn't grab a lot of people on the story aspect... so YMW.
thanks!
