Does the Empowered Spell Metamagic work with Call Lightning?

I'm wondering about this because, from what it looks like, the damage that's actually dealt by Call Lightning comes from an ability granted by the spell, not the spell itself. Before I take this feat, I want to know if Empowering the spell will have any effect on it

it should... I used Azata's rainbow starfall skill and it says I can apply bolster, empowered, and maximize on it.... casting it with bolster and empower as a 7th level spell though it allows all other call downs to hit with both bolster and empower....

also... with greater enduring spells the duration is 24 hours...

I seem to remember this coming up before and someone stated that empower/maximize didn't effect the bolts (or it didn't effect the bolts after the first one). Unless this is bugged like Cave Fangs, spending a standard action to do 3d6 to one target per round if they fail their save isn't a very effective way to kill enemies.

I just tested it in game before my post to double check it.... Azata rainbow starfall is similar to call lightning storm... I put bolster and empower on it and used it for the first cast.... it hit and gave me a 24 hour duration cause I have enduring and greater enduring feats... and anytime I used the ability from ability tab it was always bolstered and empowered when it dealt damage... and I used the element conversion from elemental bloodline to match dragon type so it was adding bloodline damage too.... bolstered, dragon bloodline damage, and empowered... every... single... activation...

so with a fresh character made in inevitable excess... my character has no gear.... my Azata starfall deals 6d6 damage... bolstered, draconic bloodline, and empowered... I just did a few casts and it was dealing 40-60 range of damage hitting 2 targets due to zippy magic... but it says it caps at 15 stars but with enduring and greater enduring it doesnt.... think I counted about over 30 before getting bored before...

Äh, save the game, skill the feat and try if you can use it on the spell? Reload if it dos not. Way faster than asking in the forum.
