maybe i'm stupid, but how do i get back to the house of 10k delights in act 5?
whenever i google it, all i find are people who had trouble finding hilor.
hilor tells me that the spinner of nightmares is in alushinra and advises to ask around at the 10k delights, but i can't figure out how to get back to the abyss

You can do that portion of the quest while you're still in Act 4. However, checking out the barracks might help. Don't remember if you can get all the way back to Alushinyrra, though.

but i didn't get the quest until act 5, that's what's so confusing, because i keep reading people getting this quest in act 4 and theh can't find hilor because you don't find him until you get back to drezen in act 5 and make the choice to rescue him.
i couldn't even talk to him until act 5 and now he's telling me to go back to the abyss.

edit : nevermind, you're right, the entrance to the fane was in the barracks. i couldn't remember where it was and i was looking in that graveyard next to the barracks

edit 2: actually,. that led to nexus, but the first portal to alushinyrra is gone, the other portal arch that let me teleport all over the city is also gone, destroyed when the demons attacked nexus back in act 4

The quest starts by talking to Venture Captain Gxxxx (don't remember the name right now - begins with a G, though - edit: Venture Captain Gristoff). Initially, he's in the Fleshmarkets, but depending on how things go there, he might move to the Bad Luck Tavern.

I know you could get back tot he Nexus. I thought access back to Alushinyrra was blocked, but didn't remember for certain (hence, the might help).

Unlikely, but I can't confirm. I've always initiated the quest before dealing (or not dealing) with the slavers. I only recently found out that he can move to the Back Luck Tavern, but that might be mythic path-dependent (and I had already started the quest).

The Spinner of Nightmare's diary is in the Ten Thousand Delights. Perhaps that part of the quest is optional?
