Divine weapon bond confusion
I've been searching online constantly for this but can't find any info. Currently I'm using Divine weapon bond but it doesn't seem to be applying any of the bonus effects listed (and hasn't most of the game from what I can see).
Am I using it wrong somehow or is it just bugged?

Which effects did you try to apply? Your scan doesn't show that.

Under the middle "A" button above the hotbar there will be various coloured sword icons. these all represent the various effects you can add to divine bond.

Simply click the effects you want so that a white glow is going around their border, and then hit the "divine bond" ability again. this will apply your bond and the effects you chose.

Keep in mind that you will not be able to have every effect available at once. Divine bond gives you a +1-5 to "Spend" on your weapon. So if you're high enough level to get a +3 divine bond, then you can spend that +3 on a +1 flaming and a +1 Keen enchantment, but you won't be able to add in the +2 Holy enchantment on top of that.

I should've included it in the second screenshot but at the time these were taken I had the "Holy" effect selected.
So the sword should be Holy with +2D6 on evil creatures?
Though that damage doesn't seem to apply in combat and the Holy effect doesn't seem to happen.

Is it down to the order of how you use it? Or can you swap between the bonuses? Like Holy for a round then switch to Flaming burst for the next?
It only allows me to have bonuses equal to the correct level currently so that part seems to be working in the game but I can't see any actual bonuses being applied to the weapons.

Are you sure the enemy was Evil aligned? Otherwise Holy doesn't apply. Do you have a screenshot of a combat-log damage breakdown against a demon, for example?

The effects only apply to the weapon you are currently holding when you activate the divine bond (which is a standard action, you should see your character do a triumphant animation), and the effects are set until they expire or you spend another use of divine bond with different parameters. You also can’t stack effects like fire/holy with existing ones your weapon might have innately.

This was in the combat right after the above screenshots were taken.
The only "Holy" damage effect is from Aroden's wrath.

Here's another one from a later attack with the same buff's applied (Second attack so no Aroden's Wrath)

Ok so:
  • Cast Divine Weapon bond
  • THEN select a power
  • Weapon has buff until bond expires and cannot be changed for duration
Or is it:
  • Select power
  • Cast Divine Weapon bond
  • Weapon has buff until bond expires and cannot be changed for duration
?

I've actually tried different ways and it seems random for it to do anything.
Does it stack with innate weapon buffs?
If I have a Corrosive weapon can I also make it holy from Divine weapon at the same time?

Your "Scimitar of Wind" has +4 enhancement, which means that you have in fact applied an enhancement Divine Weapon Bond on it. Baseline, that scimitar is a +2 weapon.

You must *first* select the power(s) *then* use Divine Weapon Bond.

Assuming it works anything like it does in Pathfinder 1e, then the bonuses you get apply ONLY for that particular casting of Divine Bond. If you cast Divine Bond with no effects, and then select the "holy" effect, then nothing will change. You will need to cast Divine Bond a second time in order for the new selected effects to be applied.

Also note that the bond only applies to the weapon you are currently holding. If you are holding a bow and then Divine Bond, and then swap to a sword, then the Sword will not have the bond. it will be on the Bow.

This one ^

Divine Bond also has a bit of a long casting time/animation, you need to let your paladin raise their weapon above their head and then bring it back down again. It might not apply correctly if you interrupt this.

It should stack with both of these. i can't think of any reason why it wouldn't.

Oh I knew the casting of bond and long animation etc that's all grand.
The problem is (and it should be changed imo) is that you need to have the upgrade selected FIRST and it can't be changed within a cast.

Personally I find it very confusing UI wise, there should just be separate Divine Bond cast's like with other abilities so it's clearer to users since changing on the fly could cause balance issues.

Though yes after double checking it's working now, I think you need to de-select the upgrade between casts too otherwise it doesn't work (hence why I wasn't getting holy before)
