Favorite Ember build: Ember, the Winter Witch.
First, level Ember up until she gets level 3 spells, and get her 5 ranks in Arcane Lore skill.
Then, take a 1-level dip into Shaman to get the Frost patron and some shaman spells.
Then, take 1 level in Crossblooded Sorcerer (White Dragon/Water Elemental) so you can make all your spells do cold damage and add +1 damge per die rolled to cold spells.

Finally, start leveling up as a Winter Witch. By this time you should be able to afford the Red Salamander ring, and have abundant casting. Be sure to get extended spells so that when you learn Cave Fangs you will have up to 144 "shots" per cast.

i had ember take a few levels in Shaman (fire spirit) on top of her ususal witch class, and then 10 levels in Mystic Theurge.

i have no idea what the mystic theurge ability actually does because it's very unclear in it's description, but she's got a lot of spells now, and basically acts as my dedicated caster character with a huge fire focus.

She lacks the wisdom to cast some of the higher level shamen spells though, so that does suck.

Why shaman ? ember being a stigmatized witch, the better combination for her with mystic theurge would have been fire mystery oracle, since they are both cha and you would progress the fire curse. About the mystic theurge ability, it lets you use a spell from one spellbook in another spellbook. So for example you can cast entangle (which is a shaman spell) with you witch spell slot. The drawback is that spell is cast as +1 level slot, so to use entangle you need a lv 2 witch spell slot. Every odd level in theurge you can do that for another spell level, up to lv 5 spells. So you'll be able to use lv 5 witch spells in lv 6 shaman slot and vice versa.
The point is that you are more flexible with spells.

Does the winbter witch allows you to merge with witch spellbook ? or is it like in pnp, you would be obligated to pick shaman, since the frost spirit comes from shaman.

Yes, Winter Witch can combine spellbooks with Witch. The primary difference is the Shaman is Divine magic, while Witch is Arcane. I do believe that the Lich spellbook can also combine with Witch, though I haven't tried that one yet.

You only need the shaman level to get the "Frost" patron requirement to take the Winter Witch class. It doesn't matter if you have one level of shaman or 6, you just need to fulfil the "Has frost" requirement.

Honestly i'm pretty sure it's just because i saw Shaman qualified as a Divine caster, and went "good enough". Think i tried one or two other classes and they didn't work. Plus the flame spirit seemed pretty fitting.

Might try Oracle on my next go around. i never really use the Shaman's hex's anyways. They kind of stop working after you get to a high enough level.

So does that spell thing function automatically then? Like Entangle is just automatically available in level 2 for Witch spells per day, as well as in 1st level Shaman spell slots? Because i have seen nothing saying "in order to cast Shaman's Entangle as a Witch's spell per day, you need to first go here, then click this, and then assign Entangle here" or anything of the sort.

Yes the spells are copied to both your spellbooks (you might need to rest first after getting a level to get the spellbook to update though). By the way if you happen to have a merged spellbook (like a lich for arcane caster or angel for divine caster), mystic theurge will also copy the mythic spells to the other spellbook, adding a lot more uses for mythic spells.
