they mean that there are 2 versions of the isles... one is within the campaign itself... that one has a limited number of islands and set loot drops... and the other mode their talking about is outside the campaign you can play as like just midnight isles as a rogue-like....
I fully agree with you... don't know of any other RPG that even comes close to WotR.
Let's hope Rogue Trader will be a similar masterpiece. ;)
Again, I can only agree with you.
It would be great if there was a DLC that continued the game after the official ending.
It says that the Isles DLC is a stand alone rouge like adventure. So as well as that it adds to the main story campaign, and you need the DLC to do this?
It's doesn't say anything about that in the description and it should.
I want any DLC that adds to the main story. I am not interested in stand alone or separate adventures.
i just searched up rogue trader. . i assume you mean that warhammer game thats "coming soon".
i normally avoid anything with warhammer 40k on it, dunno why, i just don't want anthign to do with it. . .it's likely that i was turned off by the tabletop miniatures wargaming community. . .specifically ,
edit : i must have repressed this memory, because it just came back to me
i had a bad social experience, because like, i met some person at a board gaming meetup and they said "oh yeah, me and a few others play warhammer 40k on the weekend, you should come" and i said i don't own any pieces and they said "no problem, i'm sure someone will let you use some of theirs. . " and then i showed up and everyone was like "did you bring your own minis? go up front to the store and buy a starter pack and i'll play wit you" and i was like yeah, no , frig that .. it's not entitlemnt, it's not that i'm not willing to spend money, it was that the other guy was like yeah come, we'll let you borrow some minis so you can see if you like it and then you can decide if you want to buy into it but then when i got there, nobody wanted to let me touch their stuff and i was like. .wtf, but okay, whatever, i'll just go play something else
but i digressed. .
that rogue trader game is one warhammer game that i might actually consider playing.
I also liked chaos of the old world tabletop board game. . Nergal FTW. . .
I feel the same way. Personally, I would have preferred it if they had released a third part of Pathfinder.
I've never played any game in this warhammer universe because it was all too "sci-fi" for me. In fact, I know nothing in this universe. :P
But I know Owlcat. And I know the truly quality work that Owlcat has delivered in both of their Pathfinder games. And that's why you can be pretty sure, at least with a very high probability, that Owlcat will stay true to his very own style, which we learned to love from the Pathfinder titles, also in Rogue Trader. By that I mean: wide choice in character creation, lots of material to read, a big living world, lots of interesting quests and complex relationships between the different factions. I am hopeful! :)
Some warhammer folks are like that... and at the same time it's understandable. Warhammer figurines are kind of personal, you build them, you paint them, some take dozens of hours to make. You don't really want anyone you don't know to mess with them, especially the valuable ones. That would have been a different matter if they were close friends of yours that trusted you. That guy that told you it was okay wasn't really thinking straight when he said that...
About the midnight isles DLC, while it's a sidequest in the main game, it does add to the lore (without going into spoilers, it's the same kind of quest as the enigma quest).
you can get to a point quite fast that you can just insta win by power difference
