Protection From Evil or Chaos?

So which protection is best suited for the game? Do demons classifies as Evil? What creatures are categorized as chaos?

Both. Either of the two work against demons. Usually protection from evil is more universal.

Demons are chaotic evil.
From what I can tell either would work fine for them.

But overall you'd probably be better off with evil as it has a broader overlap of with the non-demon enemies.

Demons are Chaotic Evil, but their's quite a few enemies that are evil and not chaotic.Protection from evil is in general is the most useful "Protection" spell.

Evil is probably more useful overall. Chaos would probably have some edge usage vs. fae creatures in addition to demons, but they're more prominent in Kingmaker.

At higher levels, the spell is useless, however. When you start getting cloaks of resistance +3 and rings of protection +3, there's no point to the spell anymore. Watch for non-stacking bonuses!

It still gives you immunity to Charm and dominate, it's useful anywhere you can fight succubus.

Yeah honestly that's the real purpose of the protection spells.
