I tried firing the ballistas, and they appeared to do nothing, his hit points didn't seem to move. (No are his stats showing up, which is doubly annoying.)
Nope, the game throw a screaming mardy because I beat Songbird so easily. Three attempts, the ballistas worked less than 50% of the time in three goes, just straight missing and doing nothing. Two times, I got him down to low and then the game had a screaming fit. The first time, it knocked my lich down to -2 and then the next round killed him (so game over because nothing else could hurt it). So I went back, and after the game fought me bitterly (made me rest 24 hours instead of eight, so I had to reapply all my buffs), not rested properly at least once) and then, just as I was about a turn or so from winning, it crashed out.
So any pleasure I got out of the first fight was thoroughly ruined by the end of the evening.
(As a, destroyed the crystal knife and b, wasted my first Midnight Bolt on an Act 1 boss. I think I can just get enough crystals though with Nyhandri's extra one...)
