First playthrough: Custom or Pregenerated character?
Title basically. Is there any extra content for the pregenerated characters? Such as quests maybe. If so I would rather choose a pregenerated one and if not, I'd go with a custom character.

Bonus question: Can I respect my stats after the character creation?

I am going to play this game fully blind, these two are my only questions before starting.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!!

Same content for custom and pregenerated.

Yes, you can respec, if you are below Core (or enable it in difficulty tab and that will set your difficulty to Custom).
MC can be redone from start to finish, outside of choosing different Mythic Paths.
Companions can be respeced only from lvl you recruit them from.

Respec is available from NPC named Hilor in HQ after Prologue (where you will be lvl 3).
First 3 respecs are free, after you respec 3 times it will progresively cost more money the more you use it.

Piece of advice: If you go in blind, don't play anything higher than normal difficulty.
(just saying, for some reason people think "core" would be kinda standard difficulty, even though it's 2 steps above normal, which pretty much says what it is. )

NEVER go with pregenerated unless they have story behind (hello DOS 2 and BG3)

I'll never get tired of saying it but, games like this are pretty easy if you know how they work, and the more you progress the easier they get (that is why i only play max difficulty)

What i mean with this is:
You can play a mage (cast spell with int), with negative int, unable to cast spell. Negative str, unable to hit in melee, using Sword and shield, or even only sword, and STILL be able to clear the game without any issue on lower difficulties

So just take some time..think what you would do in a fantasy world. Do you imagine casting fireballs at demons? Killing them with a giant axe? Charging them on your horse? Calling your god to smite em down?...and then build your character and enjoy the game

if you want to play on harder difficulties you need to check some guides and build a decent character. A mage swinging an axe on hard or Unfair ...won't cut it

I’d always go custom.

It might seem daunting at first for new players, but with custom, you learn so much more than with pregen.

As mentioned by the others, you can respec, so no danger of permanent screwups, so just go wild and experiment, pick what you think sounds cool.

Main thing is that you have fun, so don’t be afraid to lower the difficulty and just play your way!

In Kingmaker going pregenerated Hedwirg - Shield Bash Fighter had 32 stat point buy (while custom MC has 25), which made it OP if you wanted to play Fighter.
Dunno about Wrath.

The character creation menu also gives some hints about which classes are good in what (crowd controll, melee, tank,...) and what stats they need. It tells you stuff like "strength is important for classes like paladins, barbarians, fighter,..." and "constitution is usally important for all classes". If you take a look at a class that interests you, you also learn which stats are important. Choosing the right stats is important. For example a ranger with low dex will have a hard time hitting something. But you don't need to minmax on medium difficulty: even on higher difficulties having a 16 dexterity for a rogue will do just fine. You don't need to have 20 dex.
Also don't forget that you do not just fight in this game. Keeping at least one of your mental ability scores (wisdom, intelligence, charisma) on a medium level, for example 14, will help you a lot. The same goes the other way should you pick a class like the druid that uses wisdom as its combat score.

Just bide your time and enjoy the character creation. It can only benefit you.

lol.... open up forums and speed reading the post names I had to do a double take on this one.... I swear I thought you asked about custom or "pregnated" characters... that got a hilarious image in my mind... "alright crusaders!.... gotta close the world wound before my water breaks!"
