Then there is Aruleshae with 69+ .... :)
You can get inherent stat increases throughout the game so you'll eventually overtake most of your companions in stat values. Just assume that they already got theirs.
Yes it does, though most people would just tell you to cheat and use toybox to respec with the option to have achievements work with mods.
Short answer: Because the DM is considered (a) god and decided to give some characters more points to spend than the standard rules allow.
Considering that 25 Point Buy is already meant for "Epic Fantasy" characters, I wonder how they would call the ones that have 25+.
Anyway... just think of it that some characters are simply better (regarding ability scores) than others... it's the same with mercs for example (which 'only' get the "Pathfinder Society" Point Buy - which is 20).
Neither the Mythic-levels system nor difficulty(or otherwise)-adjusted stat increases explain the deviation from the basic character creation rules for certain companions though. In my opinion, it would have been perfectly fine, if they were also based on 25 Point Buy like the main char - or even just 20 (like the mercs). Well, with the exception of very special characters like Arueshalae or Queen Galfrey perhaps. But then again... I certainly can live with custom rules set by the DM/GM.
That is interesting to look for i mean you get a lot of buffs from books but i don't remember from att unless you are talking about the mythic bonuses
The simple answer is...she doesn't.
The complete answer is as follow.
18-19 cost A LOT more starting pts than 10-11
13-14 should cost more pts (not a lot)
and so on
I have an Aasimar, so 4 pts bonus with:
7 19 10 13 20 7
This is the amount of pts i have with my shifter (no buffs). the total is 76. So by this count, I, as an Aasimar have less pts than you? (79)
No, it just means i got 1 ability to 19 and 1 to 20 and this costed more starting points than you, and obviously more than Seelah
im sure devs probably started out with it as a normal 25 point buy originally.... and i imagine they probably changed it to help compensate for the higher stats the enemies have on higher difficulties by giving players a little boost with the story companions to help make them more viable... or just to allow more freedom in how you wanna build them since they are locked in with a couple levels already...
but gameplay wise they dont explain it of course... but could have several reasons perhaps.... I mean maybe your character could have had higher point buy too but starting off the game you had a nasty wound that perhaps permanently changed you and might have affected you to make you weaker than the rest of the world pretty much.... or perhaps because of the unique backgrounds of your companions they received training in their backgrounds unique to them or something... I mean I think that would match a bit... characters like Ember and Nenio dont have a lot of skill point equivalents... ones a beggar and ones a amnesia obsessed with books instead (in fact Nenio apparently has only a 20 point buy... guess those other 5 points worth were "irrelevant" and she forgot em lol).... whereas characters like Aru are sky high probably due to her age and experience... and other characters that are nobility or even soldiers like Seelah, Regil have higher probably due to their experience in training or able to afford with their wealth good teachers before meeting you.... and reason mercenaries are lower is probably cause your paying for the cheapest of that level... just like how you buy scrolls and potions at their lowest level at the vendors...
Fextralife says she starts out with a 28 point buy... so only 3 extra points worth...
NO!
You are wrong and you simply can check that when you're going to try to build Seelah as a 1st level main char!! She's a 28 Point Buy character.
I turned it on as it is my first play through and as I don't know what I'm doing or what the classes are (there are loads!), or what the abilities are I thought I would enable the retrain option.
Was this a mistake? I was worried that I may play 20 hours, realise I selected the wrong thing and have two choices: restart or continue with the mistake.
