There are several ways you can easily deal with them - I usually just use Phantasmal Web and my melee chars (that wear a Swarmbane Clasp) make short work of them quickly.
Keep in mind though, that they have Resistance to all energies (except Sonic), Spell Resistance and that their Reflex Save is the highest of their three Saves. So while it's definitely possible to kill them with Elemental damage it is not very resource efficient. Really best to go melee with characters that wear a Clasp - Ulbrig already has one and as mentioned, you can buy more (and also find more if you don't want to buy).
Thrown splash weapons is often a good solution for characters that aren't otherwise able to act. Easy to grab a few extras to spend a few turns where your character would otherwise have nothing to do.
Evil/neutral clerics can also use channel to harm living, which usually works well against swarms.
Does holy water work? Should apply provided they are evil outsiders. Holy water usually bypasses resistances.
I'm currently running a summoning/necromancy focused Lich. My first Lich power adds stat damage to all my damaging spells. So, the second a swarm isn't in a body, I can one tap it with acid splash. Hilarious! :D
I'd have been fine without that trick since I had two of the those anti-swarm amulets kicking around the party. There's not a lot of good amulets up to that point other than Nat Armor. And Cam's Barskin outpaces them by a large margin.
Fine or diminutive swarms are immune to weapon damage entirely.
But Tiny swarms are not immune to weapon damage. They just take half damage from Piercing or Slashing Weapons.
Regarding spells, the swarms are innately immune to spells that have a fixed number of targets. So like a cone spell that damages everything in it's area works fine against them, but a spell that affects 1 or 2 creatures won't work.
And then most of the combat maneuvers don't work against them.
And they are immune to critical hits and precision damage (such as sneak attack)
That is very interesting.
Though, heads up, not all the swarms are that low on stats.
