Act 3 is atleast 3 times as big as Act 2 so if you're already finding it hard to go without rests, it's only going to get worse. Act 4 doesn't have travel times so you can get through it with relatively little loss in ingame time but then Act 5 is as big as Act 3 and has travel times again. You do get the ability to teleport between your outposts though which you already get in Act 3 but a bit less since you're still building the teleporters at that stage.
but later on depending on mythic choices some like Azata path can help with fatigue... they get abilities like at mythic rank 4 a spell to remove fatigue and exhaustion from all party members....
but yeah if you wanna do the 75 rest thing you will either need to look at a guide or play the game enough times to know what you need to do yourself....
but yeah... I just did a quick google search for that one... and they mentioned that they fight their fights exhausted and only rest if they cant win a mandatory fight... and that they skip a lot of content too.... in order to keep it under 75 rests...
If you want the rest achievements, I'll add a few things on top of what has already been said:
- It is important to clear most of Acts II and III because you need gear and levels to stay on par with enemies in the earlier acts.
- It's not so important to clear Act V, most of its content can be skipped. In fact, you can only do Iz and Threshold and a few optional bosses and still hit level 20 no problem with shared XP. That is good, because a lot of Act V is boring as hell.
- Conserving your spells is important, so you shouldn't lean too heavily on offensive casters that need to rest to replenish spell slots. Having abundant casting is basically mandatory here.
- Skills to max are lore nature and athletics. Most failed checks in these two on the map result in additional passage of time, and thus, fatigue.
- You should take advantage of the cooking recipes that add to your fatigue time (fish on a stick, cheese crostata).
People was warning me about the difficulty as well, and thank good I didn't hear, because I'm finding it completely fine in Core... if it was easier I would be getting bored. I like the fact that I actually have to think, plan the combat beforehand, use consumables and buffs, and sometimes reload a save. Steamrolling over enemies without any of this would turn the game into a turd.
I'm not crazy about that achievement, if I can do it, it's cool... but if I have to rest 80 times I won't get mad about it. I'm doing most fights exhausted in this act... and abusing the Restoration spells, but it doesn't make too much difference for now. I was just wondering if there's any tricks.
I've found these milestones from someone who did it with just 39 rest (Including mandatories), so I'll just give some margin to that and try to go for it.

as long as your having fun is what matters.... from your posts it seemed like that wasnt the case so my warnings were just to help avoid future frustration when the game ends up getting harder.... but yeah I myself dont rest often in the game and push to exhaustion... not for the achievement thing but for me its for story reasons.... like to me some parts of the game doesnt make sense to rest in... like during shield maze I dont rest till the end.... and gray garrison I dont rest in at all.... both are quests that are "we're on a mission to save people" or "retaking a location while everyone is fighting".... just as early game examples... later acts have much bigger events like the lost chapel or siege of drezen which are fun to me.... but story wise I rest at the first one only once after completing main goal.... and the later only twice cause it fits the story better for me...
I get what you mean, totally. I didn't rest in any of those places... My characters were not tired and it would have been weird, lol.
Maybe some other post it sound like I was frustrated, but it was not the case, really. I'm having a lot of fun... it's just that the game doesn't do the best job explaining things (The encyclopedia, for example, is a joke in many aspects), so I'm getting doubt after doubt... I'm actually trying not to open too many posts out of embarrassment, LOL.
lol its fine... ive had about 500 hours into the game and I still find out things new... plus taking a year break from it things changed...
but also beginning of Act 2 is gonna be a pain with resting mechanic and like you said getting tired... early on I can deal with fights fatigued and only rest when exhausted.... but as you level up and you have a companion dedicated with a high nature ranks you can help mitigate it a bit better when they can pass the difficult checks... also there is a food you can eat with cooking to increase travel before exhaustion by I think 4 hours you should have picked up by now I think... but if you do have to rest and wanna do it rarely... i'd recommend at least trying to pull over to a location you can enter to rest if you can.... that way you can continue with companion quests kinda thing.... camping on world map doesnt allow personal companion dialogue... one of the earliest examples you'll notice is if you camp with sosiel in party... not sure if doing his quest is the trigger to unlock it or not since its the first thing I do in Act 2...
