How do your trigger flaming/electric etc weapons with shaman
So as Shaman & a few other classes you can enchant your weapon so it is magical and gets a bonus. You can now spend the +1 bonus to get flaming/electric etc weapons but when i try to do so, nothing happens. I click the button, the box of the ability is on but the bonus is not added to the weapon, nor does the wepon look like it is flaming or something.

The various abilities you can add to the weapon are options (toggle on/off). You still need to activate the spirit enhancement ability to use it (or the equivalent ability from whichever class you're using). After activating, it lasts a certain amount of time (probably 1 minute), and you can only activate it a limited number of times per day.

i tried a few things. It works when i first toggle the weapon optional dmg on and than activate the spirit enhancement. when i do it the other way round, it does not work.

same happens with skald song. if I don't toggle stances to automatic, they are not applied until I sing the song again. So I guess it's more of "use this abiltiy with X" than "use this ability then flavour to taste with X"

Not sure there, but I know with the barbarian/bloodrager rage, it only works in combat, even if you have unlimited rage mythic power.

I think that's intentional. Whichever toggle abilities you have activated will be in effect when you activate the ability.

I don't think you're supposed to be able to switch to different options within the same use of the spirit enhancement, but I might be wrong about that.

What makes you think it's possible? The in-game description of Spirit Weapon Enhancement states that the bonuses and properties are decided when the spirit hunter uses the ability and cannot be changed until the next time spirit weapon enhancement is used.

Plus, your own experience seems to indicate that it doesn't:

Evidence seems to indicate this is working as intended.

Because the DESIGN CHOICE here says possible. Thats why. The Design choise does not match with the ingame description. If the buttons of the different elements would automatically activate the Spirit weapon this problem would be solved. If i instead create differen buttons which i can toggle all together if i want to (which is possible) than this indicates that all Elements are usable together or before or after the use of spirit weapon, no matter what the rules say.

In Game design you have always to think in more than one dimension of possible confusion.

The design choice is to select whichever combination of weapon properties you want and then activate the spirit weapon ability. This is consistent with the in game description. If you want to change the weapon properties, you need to select them - AND - reactivate the spirit weapon ability. Again, this is consistent with the in game description which states that they cannot change until the next time it's activated.
