Dragon Shifter build/s?
Major reason for me to play in Pathfinder games is that it's one of the few RPGs that allow you to transform into a dragon. I've been personally thinking about trying a build similar to this one(I know it's for modded Kingmaker but some of that stuff is in the Wrath from what I know):
https://www.reddit.com/r/Pathfinder_Kingmaker/comments/ffb8sc/comment/fjz6rz0/

I know you can get gold dragon mythic path but it's pretty late in a game and I heard that storywise it sucks a little. Storywise best path are angel, demon and azata. My idea was to do some multiclassed sorcerer aasimar and go with azata path. I find idea of azata turning into dragon/s with an actual dragon walking alongside of it really amusing.

I'm not looking for the crunchiest build there is, just something viable for normal/easy difficulty mods for a future playthrough. Trying to build something similar to that build from reddit makes any shred of sense in Wrath of? It seems like a fun mix of melee and a decent caster. Ofcourse some stuff must be changed in it because I'm pretty sure unmodded Wrath doesn't have exactly everything that I'd need for it. Also I am aware that I will most likely not get dragon form 3 in wrath. It kinda goes with gold dragon mythic path only.

Best way might to go Bard or Sorcerer with dragon-disciple as soon as possible. There is also a special dragondin-subclass for the shapeshifter, if you have the newest DLC... The dragon-disciple isn't available for that without multi-classing, thaough, since a shapeshifter can't cast spells...

As bard or sorcerer, you can choose a dragon-subclass. Bards might end up better melee-fighters, while sorcerer will get level 9-spells eventually. And at level 5, you can change to dragon-disciple, then. (make sure, you have arcana at least at rank 5 naturally - without buffs, this is one of the pre-requirements).

To get gold drageon unlocked, you need to do seveal quests in all acts. If you miss one, it will be blocked for good. So I would do a resarch fist. (I blocked gold-dragon for my actual campaign.. So I will remain Trickster....)
You can try it out though: Either with the DLC "Midnight Isle" in stand-alone-mode. (this needs work though, You will get a mythic level-per Island-campagin, starting with round 2...)

Or directly with the DLC "inevitable Excess". Caution, though: You might end up taking hours for creating your character and not realy playing the DLC itself then... (I have this problem. I created a lich. But I know I won't play it... I just don't have the patience)
This DLC is also availbale at nearly the end of the normal campaign. (and also midnight isle at act III. But in the campaign mode, you won't get any additional mythic-levels...)

Just add Brown Fur Transmuter into party and transform yourself into Dragon I, II, III.

The problem - you cannot do any activities while Polymorphed. No item\scroll use, no item change etc. You will have to cancel poly spell any time you will want to do something, which is annoying, and you will waste spell.

Shifter with Mythic Shapeshifter can poly at will, but he can't poly into Dragonkind III (which is the ultimate Dragon).

I am also very attracted to becoming a dragon, my first move was with a black dragon bloodline magus, I tried to combine melee with a spell caster but sooner or later you will realize that having a hybrid is not of much use, at In the end, only I was left as the spell caster since the melee was not very useful and the spells are in the area and apart from that they were level 6, you lose feats with metamagic so as not to harm your companions, I recommend going with the heir of the dragon, although he cannot transform into a dragon, he is very powerful in melee if you do the corresponding feats, he is a tank with a lot of damage and crits and if you plan to go the way of the dragon, you could be heir to the golden dragon. They give you wings and at the end you can transform the same and you get powerful spells from the path of the golden dragon which would make you a powerful melee warrior and a powerful spell caster and lastly if you want to transform you can up the scroll usage and transform with the scrolls until you reach the golden dragon,

But the truth is I do not recommend playing as a hybrid, either a sorcerer or a magus with a dragon lineage, the dragon converts to melee and these 2 classes are bad in melee and the dragon would be very weak in its transformation to fight, the other option he is the bloodrager he is a good melee with some basic magic to boost you in melee, but he is still weaker than a dragon heir in combat

If you have the patience to wait chapter 5, just pick whatever class you want then switch your path to gold dragon provided you unlocked the path by doing the requisite quests

On normal/easy being a gish is more then fine, the "classic" sorc dragon shifter build imo would be:
4 sorc/1 scaled fist monk/4 dragon disciple/10 eldrich knight/1 anything
DD and EK make up for the lack of bab of sorc and progress spell book (although -2 levels, -3 with the sf dip). SF is not needed on lower difs but still can help. If you don't need the bab, then drop the EK and do more DD/Sorc levels for bloodline progression.

Bring a bft is a good plan, so if you go with something that can only get dragon 2, you use that form for trash fights then use bft's dragon 3 for hard fights.

Primal Druid merged with angel is another path, if you have the bft companion, then you can shapeshift your pet into a dragon, so you lack the amazing aivu, you still have a dragon friend and then the amazing buffs from angel.

A sorcerer with feats to specialize in claw, wing, bite and tail, with the Mythic Thunderous trait, and the various magic buffs and heavy armor spec can be a devastating dragon shifter as well.

They really crapped the bed with dragon shifter. All they had to do was give the minor aspect portion some stronger buffs/abilities and it would have been decent enough, but no, it's just a full bab dragon kind II.

Thanks for all the advice fellas. It will come in handy when I get to playing in Wrath for sure. If what games allows will not cut it I will probably check out mods to change/add classes in-game similar to how Call of the Wild/Favored Class works that I will use in Kingmaker.

Statwise dragon kind III is the most useful but there is another problem....dragon, from what I seen/heard can be a lil bit too damn big to be useful in certain places and dragon III is the biggest.

A bit of an update on my side for people struggling with the same problem.

There is really easy solution to all the dragon lovers. Mods. Expanded Content mod adds plenty of classes/subclasses and tweaks them around. One of them, Oracle(also present in the base game) has a draconic revelation that allows you to become a dragon. I have no idea how to build such character but I may just go full on Oracle from lvl 1 to 20.
