sword of heaven

i dont get why when i use "sword of heaven" it does massive damage to MY OWN CHARACTER and no one else ... what am i missing here?

Sword of Heaven does not deal damage, so dunno?
MR 0-2 it causes Flare and gives 1HP.
If you go Angel, then on MR 3-10 it adds damage to a weapons/abilities/spells.

A) Do you have mods?
Update them and delete mods that do not have update for current patch.
Then verify the files on Steam.

B) Are new to Pathfinder?
Do you use it right next to enemies in melee? When you use ability, spell or move (unless otherwise specified) in reach of enemy weapon you provoke Attack of Oportunity.

i found that twice when i used it while in melee is when i got all of that damage (could that be attack of opportunity really? i guess so-- it was massive amounts of damage; my own stupidity then looks like)

...anyhow when i try it outside of combat no problem works fine so ...its not a bug must be attack of opportunity

Is your own character "evil"? A holy weapon will not do pleasant things to evil characters wielding them - though that might just be a pen and paper thing for pathfinder.

You're Aligment is not supported for Angel, they can be Lawful Good, Neutral Good,Lawful Neutral or True Neutral.

I have no idea honestly, it could be a bug. I'v never gone into Angel whit anything else then a Lawful good character since it's just easier as a lot of Angel options are either Lawful or Good.

i hope they would tell you that BEFORE you make the choice if that was the case ...i dont think its that

looks like it was attacks of opportunity actually; i have used it since WITHOUT any complications

If you don't match you will get a quest that will allow you to correct your aligment and continue, if you don't do it you can fail your mythic path and not be able to transform during chapter 5.

I read on fextra that it's bugged and that according to the combat log , it causes similar to attacks of opportunity from melee range opponents that automatically hit - but they don't count as attacks of opportunity, e.g. if you move away from them, they still get attacks of opportunity right then.

A keyword search of the update history til march 3, 2022 shows nothing fixing that specifically about sword of heaven.
