Another factor is that inclusion of furries into a game can break some people's immersion pretty hard. Contributing to this is that a lot of people who 'hate' furries REALLY hate furries. And many times for actual valid reasons encapsulated by what happened at Rainfurrest:

Yes, not all furries are the worst offenders documented there by the Internet Historian. But the 'community' is seen by normies as if they all are.
The complaint about her lacking personality is technically valid and by design. But it's spoilery to point out exactly why. YMMV on how interesting you think that story actually is.
Two: the only real moral alignment in this game is whether or not someone is nice to Ember. If they are mean to Ember they are evil. If they are nice, they are good at heart. That's it, that's the test. If it says evil but they're nice (or ignore) Ember then they're not evil-evil. Like certainpeople who talk about fried chicken around the campfire.
Also regarding the topic of all this, HOW DARE you even think of hurting Nenio just because you find her annoying, killing somebody because they annoy you is an evil thing that psychopaths do, I can get telling her to beat it if you find her annoying but killing her? That's just evil and if I met you in real life I'd be concerned for my well being as if being annoying is a reason enough to kill somebody then well you are a danger to society

Oh no, he said mean things! Totally evil! Also, being neutral doesn't preclude people from killing those that interfere with their own agenda. What matters is what you do most of the time.
I would say he's chaotic neutral, as Daeran has no control over the entity inside of him and is therefore not responsible for its deeds.
I read the spoiler by one of the posters. If that is true it drops her a little bit in my book. Why are people that you get at level 1 supposed to be in lore that powerful?
I still like her but reading some of these comments make me think she was a little bit less well written than I originally thought.
Totally agreed, this is what made me like Daeran and hate Camellia even before learning their stories.
At least until I gave up on the game completely for all the ridiculousness.
I like the character, one of my favourite things is when she performs the alcohol drinking experiment:)
Agreed. Not only that, we are dealing with a war where demons influence people to turn on the companions (and we have seen first hand how often it happens to crusaders). Since we know the fall of Drezen was due to infiltration by the enemy, I think the KC is well within his rights to want to eliminate the guy from as far away as possible.
so why are you still talking here, does the game live in your head rent free?
