If OwlCat wanted they could even have used native APIs to gather that information and send it annonymously to their servers and then re-send that info to appFlyer without the users even knowing what is happening, unless someone did a reverse-engineering processes or a wireshark TCP analysis. Something that is beyond reach of 95% of the people who own the game.
As a community we should just ask to allow us to deactivate such tracking measures, perhaps we a little bit of transparency a user might accept that appflyer data gathering with a good terms of use and legal responsability and get some reward like early access to rogue trader.

This response would be okay but they already broke the trust and potentially some laws and now are asking for forgiveness. They did this to themselves.
It speaks to how out of touch they are with their players. Only a few companies can get away with this level of scummy and have the players not revolt: EA (sometimes), Paradox Interactive, and whoever makes those Evony games.
