Cannot miss them. Its scripted. So yes, you'll find em before Drezen.

Daeran was taken to a well, where he cut off the heads of two gargogyles, then climbed up. You can still see thier bodies in the well, headless.

Ember probably doesnt really know where she is at any given time. It seems likely when she was taken, she had a conversation with her entity. Then grandmaw crow broke her paralysis, and she fled/killed the gargogyle.

Ember is an ELF, which means she is immune to paralysis effects. And Sleep effects.

Aremt elves only immune to sleep? take a screenshot of your immunity to paralysis. Pretty sure thats a mythic ability your reffering to.

Elves are immune to the paralysis effects of ghouls, not all paralysis effects. It isn't an elven ability, its a limitation of the ghouls attack, which is why it isn't listed in an elves abilities.

Elves are also only immune to magical sleep effects. Mundane effects that cause sleep, like a poison, will still work on them just fine.

At least in the tabletop version. I don't know how they carried it over for the computer games.

This is actually an interesting bit of DnD history. There was a tactics game that was sort of an army builder like Warhammer Fantasy that the initial DnD creators used as an initial basis for DnD. There was a balance issue in that game with ghoul armies completely wiping Elf armies due to their paralysis. The eventual nerf was to make the low level ghoul trooper's paralysis not work on Elves while their higher level (and higher point-costed) ghast's paralysis did.

For whatever reason, this stuck around and got carried through mutiple versions of DnD even showing up in pathfinder for tradition reasons. Here are the Ghoul and Ghast stat blocks:

https://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/undead/ghoul/

https://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/undead/ghoul/ghoul-ghast/

Note the ghoul Paralysis specifically calling out not working on Elves and the Ghast verson specifically calling out that it DOES work on Elves.

It's pretty funny that it has stuck around from being a balance change from way back when but doesn't really have logical in-game reason for still being present.

I think that game is also why Elves are Immune to Sleep but I don't remember the specific thing that caused that.
